- • As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the API team at DeepL, you will serve as a technical strategist enabling 10x API delivery speed and establishing the trust required for enterprise adoption, bridging complex distributed systems with seamless partner integrations.
- • Day to day, you will drive API strategy and scale by architecting hyper-scalable infrastructure for exponential growth, enable the partner ecosystem by leading technical integrations with AWS Marketplace and enterprise SaaS providers, and force-multiply engineering velocity by establishing platform standards, self-service tooling, and automated quality gates.
- • You will join the API & Partnership track, which acts as the gateway to DeepL, enabling global integration of its Language and AI capabilities into external digital ecosystems while ensuring enterprise-ready interfaces and internal team efficiency.
- • In this role, you can learn to shape enterprise-grade API platforms at scale, influence cross-functional technical strategy, and guide the organization in adopting AI-assisted engineering practices while working with a diverse, international team of over 90 nationalities.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years in software engineering with focus on high-scale distributed systems and API platform architecture
- • Deep experience with modern cloud stacks and backend technologies
- • Proven ability to drive engineering cultures centered on automated testing and operational discipline
- • Experience navigating compliance, security, and data residency challenges in enterprise landscapes
- • Skill in translating complex technical challenges into clear strategic proposals and writing RFCs
- • Experience influencing stakeholders across product and engineering teams to drive consensus in ambiguous environments
