- • Serve as a Solutions Engineer on the Global Services Delivery Team, implementing Apache Airflow and Astronomer’s managed Airflow platform for enterprise customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
- • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable, production-grade data pipelines using Apache Airflow in alignment with industry best practices.
- • Deliver post-sales technical support by educating customers on Airflow best practices, conducting code refactoring assessments, and optimizing existing DAGs for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to prototype, design, and implement internal and external engineering solutions that enhance customer outcomes and product capabilities.
- • Review and optimize customer data workflows, Airflow system configurations, and pipeline performance across diverse cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- • Engage directly with customers through Slack, email, virtual meetings, pair programming sessions, and knowledge transfer workshops to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing success with the Astronomer platform.
- • Collect and synthesize customer feedback on Airflow and Astronomer product usage, translating real-world use cases into actionable product improvement recommendations for the product team.
- • Maintain and continuously expand deep technical expertise in Apache Airflow, including staying current with new releases, features, and community-driven innovations that deliver maximum customer impact.
- • Build and customize Airflow operators and hooks in Python to extend platform functionality and address unique customer requirements.
- • Support customers in implementing ETL/ELT pipelines with modern data stack tools such as DBT, Snowflake, Databricks, and Cloudera, ensuring alignment with their data architecture and scalability goals.
- • Act as a liaison between customers and Astronomer’s internal teams, ensuring smooth communication of technical needs, challenges, and success metrics.
- • Contribute to the broader Apache Airflow open-source community by participating in discussions, sharing implementation insights, and advancing platform maturity through community collaboration.
- • Work in a hybrid model, spending at least three days per week in the Hyderabad office while maintaining strong digital engagement with global customers and teams.
- • Prioritize and execute multiple customer-facing initiatives simultaneously with precision, adaptability, and a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- • Maintain a highly data-driven approach to problem-solving, using performance metrics, logs, and observability tools to validate pipeline efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3-5 years of data-engineering experience, ideally working with Apache Airflow in production environments
- • Experience creating DAGs, writing Python, and building Airflow custom operators and hooks
- • Experience with related market products such as Cloudera, Databricks, Snowflake, DBT, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, ETL Technologies or other analytics solutions
- • Empathetic, driven and team-oriented with great prioritization skills and ability to execute on customer-facing activities
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers via Slack, email, knowledge transfer, and pair programming sessions
- • Highly data-driven and intrigued by the challenge of delivering an awesome Astronomer experience to hundreds of customers
