- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-grade software systems.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications that define coding challenges and their expected outcomes, ensuring alignment with real-world engineering scenarios.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and robustness.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for accuracy, clarity, realism, and adherence to best practices in software engineering.
- • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes in both task specifications and submitted solutions to improve task quality and reliability.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference implementations, and expected outputs across all dimensions of the coding challenge.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases to understand system behavior and produce accurate reference solutions.
- • Participate in code reviews and refactoring activities to enhance code quality, maintainability, and scalability of generated engineering tasks.
- • Contribute to production migrations by designing realistic scenarios that simulate real-world system upgrades and dependency changes.
- • Deliver high-quality, production-realistic coding tasks that reflect current industry standards and are suitable for evaluating software engineering skills.
- • Generate structured, actionable feedback on peer submissions, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- • Maintain consistent quality across all deliverables, including reference implementations, test coverage artifacts, and review annotations.
- • Work on a part-time, project-based basis with full autonomy over schedule and workload, while adhering to project deadlines and quality benchmarks.
- • Use personal tools and infrastructure to complete tasks; no company-provided equipment is provided.
- • May simultaneously engage with other vendors or employers, provided such arrangements do not conflict with project requirements or confidentiality obligations.
- • Collaborate remotely with an AI lab and other expert contributors to refine the quality and realism of software engineering evaluation datasets.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
