- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-grade software systems.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define coding challenges and expected outcomes.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and robustness.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with specified requirements, identifying edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference implementations, and expected outputs to maintain high-quality, production-realistic engineering scenarios.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases to assess code quality, architectural integrity, and maintainability.
- • Participate in code reviews and refactoring exercises to improve code structure, readability, and performance in simulated production environments.
- • Contribute to production migrations by evaluating the feasibility, risks, and implementation paths of system upgrades or architectural changes.
- • Operate independently as a project-based consultant with full control over schedule, tools, and workflow, while maintaining consistent delivery quality.
- • Deliver structured, actionable feedback on peer submissions, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement in coding practices.
- • Work remotely on a part-time, project-based engagement with no fixed hours or mandatory attendance, allowing flexibility to manage multiple vendor relationships concurrently (subject to their policies).
- • Be compensated on a per-project basis, with payment calculated based on estimated completion time and task complexity, not hourly rates.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English to produce clear, unambiguous technical documentation, specifications, and feedback.
- • Apply advanced software engineering experience (3–7 years) to evaluate and create realistic, industry-standard coding tasks that mirror real-world development challenges.
- • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with working knowledge of at least one additional language such as Java, C#, or Go.
- • Leverage experience with production systems to ensure all created tasks reflect authentic software engineering contexts and constraints.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
