  • • As a Full Stack Engineer at College Board, you will be a pivotal member of the Technology team, contributing to the evolution of shared platform capabilities within the Core Assessment Platform. This role is instrumental in building and enhancing systems that are critical for millions of students annually, operating at a significant scale and with immense public responsibility.
  • • You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving robust software solutions that balance the need for experimentation with the imperative of reliability. This involves working across the entire technology stack, from front-end interfaces to back-end services and cloud infrastructure.
  • • A key aspect of this role is collaborating closely with product owners, architects, and other cross-functional partners to make well-informed technical decisions in complex and often ambiguous problem spaces. You will have the opportunity to influence architectural direction, establish engineering standards, and shape the technical trajectory of our platform.
  • • Your contributions will directly impact the development of transformative software solutions using modern technologies. You will be building component-driven, scalable, secure, and cost-effective systems that enhance our product ecosystem and accelerate innovation, ensuring our technology supports the future of learning.
  • • You will champion engineering excellence by ensuring our systems and services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This includes translating new product capabilities into actionable engineering work, breaking down complex ideas into clear, testable, and functional components.
  • • Driving best-in-class delivery is paramount. You will apply Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices to create solutions that are not only robust and maintainable but also built for continuous improvement and rapid iteration.
  • • In terms of team operations and success, you will lead and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups, to ensure your team remains aligned, delivers effectively, and continuously improves its processes.
  • • Elevating team performance is a core responsibility. You will contribute to and sometimes lead peer reviews, which are crucial for strengthening code quality, architectural integrity, and overall engineering rigor.
  • • Supporting production excellence involves actively diagnosing and resolving issues quickly and effectively, minimizing any disruption to our users.
  • • You will be instrumental in upholding and evolving engineering standards, ensuring strict compliance with security best practices and development guidelines.
  • • Embracing a CI/CD culture means continuously refining pipelines and delivery workflows to ship high-quality code with speed and confidence, enabling faster feedback loops and quicker feature releases.
  • • Investing in your own growth is encouraged, with a focus on continually expanding your skills to thrive in a collaborative, poly-skilled Agile environment.
  • • For software solutioning and design, you will develop a deep understanding of customer needs and business processes, ensuring every solution delivers tangible value and aligns with real-world workflows.
  • • You will collaborate with architects, lead engineers, and data partners to evaluate new features, estimate complexity, and shape sprint plans, contributing to strategic technical planning.
  • • Contributing to a culture of thoughtful design and technical excellence involves actively conducting and participating in peer design and code reviews, fostering a shared commitment to quality.
  • • This role requires a strong ability to manage the entire lifecycle of features, from initial design and development through documentation and deployment, with a keen focus on clear and accurate interfaces and integrations.
  • • You will be expected to review and improve code structure and architecture for testability, maintainability, and scalability, leveraging hands-on experience with modern coding frameworks and cloud technologies.
  • • Strong problem-solving skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with team members to identify and resolve issues and partner with Product Owners to prioritize the backlog effectively.
  • • A proven ability to pitch new ideas and implement improved systems and processes, consistently delivering excellent results, is highly valued.
  • • As an effective communicator and team member, you will be able to provide actionable feedback, mentor junior team members, and participate in interviews to evaluate engineering talent, contributing to team growth and development.
  • • The role is remote, with the option for hybrid work for those near College Board offices, and requires occasional travel for business purposes.
  • • You will be part of a mission-driven engineering team dedicated to building and evolving technology that powers and protects the future of learning, tackling significant technical challenges with meaningful public impact.
