• As a Full-Stack Engineer at Fundamental, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience and the underlying infrastructure that enables seamless interaction with our cutting-edge AI models. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking product from its inception and to work on unprecedented technical challenges in foundation model development. You will be instrumental in building technology that fundamentally transforms how the world's largest organizations make strategic decisions.
• Your responsibilities will span the entire stack, from crafting intuitive user interfaces to architecting and implementing scalable backend systems that manage complex data upload and integration pipelines. You will be deeply involved in the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring our platform is robust, efficient, and user-friendly.
• Specifically, you will be tasked with building robust backend services and APIs essential for model inference. This includes designing and implementing efficient batching systems and optimizing performance for handling massive datasets. Your work will directly impact the speed and reliability of our AI model predictions.
• You will also focus on implementing sophisticated state management and session persistence mechanisms. These are crucial for maintaining the context of our AI models and ensuring a consistent, high-quality user experience, even during complex or lengthy interactions.
• On the frontend, you will design and develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces that facilitate model interaction, monitoring, and configuration. Leveraging modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, you will create intuitive and engaging user experiences that make powerful AI accessible.
• A significant part of your role will involve designing and implementing event-driven architectures. Utilizing pub/sub messaging patterns, you will enable asynchronous processing and enhance the overall scalability of our systems, ensuring they can handle fluctuating workloads and complex data flows.
• You will develop and maintain database connectivity layers, creating seamless integration points with critical third-party data sources like Snowflake and Databricks. This ensures our models can access and process the diverse data required for optimal performance.
• Creating comprehensive error handling, robust retry mechanisms, and effective monitoring solutions will be vital to ensuring the reliability and stability of our platform. Your contributions will directly enhance system uptime and user trust.
• Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with our MLOps and DevOps teams. This partnership is key to optimizing the overall architecture, streamlining the deployment pipeline, and ensuring our AI solutions are deployed efficiently and reliably in production environments.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering roles.
• Strong Python development experience, particularly with FastAPI and the ASGI ecosystem.
• Experience building full-stack applications with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) and backend systems.
• Proficiency designing event-driven architectures using pub/sub messaging patterns and integrating distributed task queues (e.g., Celery).
• Understanding of model serving patterns (REST, gRPC, async batching) and experience handling large-scale inference workflows in production.
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and integration with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Experience with state management, session persistence, and efficient data flow patterns in distributed applications.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable frontend code and collaborate with design and product stakeholders.
