📋 Description

• Seaport Global Holdings LLC is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to join a growing team in London, where the role is critical to building and scaling modern, complex systems that support the firm’s expanding financial technology initiatives. As an early hire in a new, fast-growing business unit, the engineer will have the opportunity to shape foundational architecture, drive technical excellence, and make an immediate impact on product development and operational efficiency.
• The ideal candidate will combine strong academic foundations in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science with proven hands-on experience in full-stack development, demonstrating a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code using contemporary tools and agile practices. This role is designed for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, values collaboration, and is eager to grow alongside the company as it scales.
• Day to day, the Full-Stack Engineer will design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.js and robust backend technologies including Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), or Java (Spring Boot), ensuring seamless integration between user interfaces and server-side logic.
• They will write and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs, optimize database interactions with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) systems, and implement automated testing suites (unit, integration, end-to-end) using tools like Jest, PyTest, or Cypress to ensure code reliability and performance.
• The engineer will collaborate closely with product, data, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives), and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins to enable rapid, safe releases.
• They will monitor application performance and security using logging and observability tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana), troubleshoot production issues, and implement fixes while adhering to best practices in DevOps and cloud-native principles, including containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes.
• The engineer will actively participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and advocate for technical improvements, helping to establish engineering standards, documentation practices, and architectural guidelines that support long-term maintainability and scalability.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development with proficiency in modern frontend (React/Vue.js/Angular) and backend (Node.js/Python/Java) technologies
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL databases, and experience with testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
