Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Condor is at the forefront of revolutionizing the financial infrastructure for the biopharmaceutical industry, a sector where billions are invested annually in discovering and developing life-saving therapies. Despite this massive investment, the financial and operational aspects of clinical development have lagged, relying on fragmented tools and static data. Condor is building the essential financial intelligence layer that empowers R&D and finance leaders with real-time command over their operations. We are a system of action, connecting clinical operations, vendor activities, and financial signals into a unified, intelligent platform.
  • • As a Full-Stack Platform Engineer at Condor, you will play a pivotal role in constructing and scaling the core platform that underpins this critical financial intelligence infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to engage in foundational engineering work at the nexus of robust backend systems, scalable cloud infrastructure, and sophisticated AI-driven automation. In this role, correctness, reliability, and the ability to scale are paramount, as our enterprise biopharma clients depend on our platform for their most critical operations and financial decisions.
  • • Your primary focus will be on backend and platform architecture. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying services that form the backbone of complex financial and operational workflows. This involves shaping how data traverses the system, orchestrating intricate workflows, and ensuring the platform can seamlessly support and integrate emerging AI-driven capabilities. This is not about superficial integrations; you will be building the durable, foundational primitives that enable other teams and the product itself to scale effectively as our customer base grows.
  • • You will operate as a core member of a cross-functional product team, fostering close collaboration with product managers, designers, quality engineers, and data specialists. This collaborative environment ensures that features are conceived, developed, and brought to production seamlessly, from initial concept to final deployment. While your backend expertise will be central, you will also engage pragmatically across the full stack to guarantee that platform capabilities are accurately and reliably exposed through the product interface.
  • • This role is designed for engineers who are passionate about tackling challenging platform problems, who thrive on working closely with real-world customer use cases, and who aspire to build infrastructure that becomes indispensable to the operation of an entire industry. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of clinical development finance.
  • • Key responsibilities include the end-to-end design, implementation, rigorous testing, and deployment of backend services, APIs, and core platform components that drive Condor's financial cloud. This involves not only building new functionalities but also maintaining and enhancing the existing platform infrastructure, which is architected using a serverless approach to maximize efficiency and scalability.
  • • A significant aspect of this role will involve close collaboration with our AI/ML engineering and product teams. You will be instrumental in designing the backend interfaces and services required to integrate with advanced LLM-based agents, sophisticated retrieval systems, and automated reasoning workflows. This integration work is crucial for unlocking the predictive and automated capabilities that differentiate Condor.
  • • You will also develop the backend logic necessary to support highly complex workflows. These workflows are central to clinical trial accounting, financial forecasting, and budgeting processes, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of financial operations within the biopharma context.
  • • While the emphasis is on backend development, you will also contribute to building frontend components and interfaces as needed to ensure complete full-stack feature delivery. This will involve utilizing modern frontend frameworks like React to create intuitive and effective user experiences that leverage the power of the underlying platform.
  • • A critical part of ensuring platform stability and performance involves investigating and resolving complex production issues. This requires a methodical approach to root cause analysis and the ability to recommend and implement long-term architectural improvements to prevent recurrence and enhance overall system resilience.
  • • You are expected to write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, adhering strictly to internal development standards and best practices. This commitment to code quality is essential for a platform operating at enterprise scale.
  • • Finally, you will actively participate in architectural discussions and technical planning sessions, contributing your insights and expertise to the ongoing evolution and strategic scaling of the platform. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge of backend best practices, system design principles, and technical excellence.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend development.
  • • Proven track record of building and scaling backend systems, APIs, and data-intensive applications.
  • • Deep expertise in at least one backend programming language (Python preferred, but others like Go are acceptable) and associated frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
  • • Understanding of full-stack development, including frontend frameworks, with a primary focus on backend architecture and implementation.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity participation.
  • • Comprehensive employee benefits, including 100% company-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • • 401(k) plan with a 3% company match that vests immediately.
  • • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO).
