📋 Description

• DaCodes is seeking three highly skilled Full Stack Engineers to join a critical, full-time contract engagement supporting a key US-based client in the dynamic e-commerce sector.
• This role is not for a nascent project; you will be stepping into mature, customer-facing production systems that are already established, structured, and handle sensitive, real-time transactions. Your primary mission will be to significantly accelerate the delivery of new features while simultaneously elevating the overall quality and robustness of the codebase.
• Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing engineering throughput and driving down defect rates, all within the framework of established sprint cadences and adherence to existing architectural guidelines. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on a live, high-traffic e-commerce platform.
• The core technical stack for this role revolves around robust backend development using PHP, ideally within an MVC framework such as Symfony, and sophisticated frontend development with Angular (version 2 and above) utilizing TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience with Node.js is a significant advantage and may be incorporated into the stack based on specific team requirements.
• You are expected to possess the discipline and initiative to ramp up quickly, ideally within one to two weeks, and begin delivering production-ready features with a high degree of autonomy. This role demands engineers who are comfortable navigating and improving existing codebases, demonstrating strong backend discipline, and understanding the nuances of performance-sensitive environments.
• Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of full-stack feature development. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining backend APIs primarily in PHP, contributing to Node.js services where necessary, and building, enhancing, and optimizing Angular-based Single Page Applications (SPAs).
• You will play a crucial role in optimizing and maintaining relational databases, likely MySQL or similar, ensuring efficient data management and retrieval. A key aspect of the role involves refactoring legacy components to enhance maintainability, improve performance, and reduce technical debt.
• Improving automated test coverage will be a continuous effort, ensuring the reliability and stability of the application. Active participation in code reviews is essential, fostering a collaborative environment and upholding code quality standards.
• A significant part of this engagement is the ability to deliver committed sprint work independently, maintaining a consistent sprint velocity without requiring constant supervision. This role is ideal for execution-oriented individuals comfortable with structured sprint environments and contractor-style engagements focused on tangible delivery and measurable impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong PHP experience within an MVC framework (Symfony strongly preferred; Laravel/Zend/CakePHP acceptable).
• Strong Angular (2+) experience in production environments.
• Strong relational database experience (MySQL or similar), including query optimization.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience working on and improving legacy production systems.
• Experience working under agile/sprint methodologies.
• Production experience with Node.js (NestJS, Express, or similar) is a strong plus.
• Experience in transaction-heavy or e-commerce platforms is a strong plus.
• Experience improving automated test coverage in mature systems is a strong plus.
• Based in LATAM.
• Minimum 4-hour overlap with US business hours.
• Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
• Full-time availability for a fixed-term contract engagement.
