📋 Description

• As a Full Stack Software Engineer at Cala Health, you will play a vital role in advancing the company’s mission to free people from the burden of chronic disease through innovative, non-invasive therapies like Cala kIQ. Your work will directly impact user-facing applications that empower thousands to regain confidence and ease in daily life.
• Day to day, you will build performant and accessible web and mobile experiences using React and React Native, develop and maintain REST APIs with Python and FastAPI, design and manage relational and NoSQL databases, write well-tested code, participate in system design discussions, and collaborate with Product and Design teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• You will join a mission-driven engineering team at Cala Health, a pioneering health technology company focused on applying neuromodulation technology across neurology, cardiology, and beyond. The team values technical excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation in regulated healthcare environments.
• In this role, you will deepen your full-stack expertise, gain experience in healthcare and SaMD applications, contribute to technical strategy involving AI integrations and cloud architecture, and grow as a versatile engineer capable of owning complex features from concept to production.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience in building production systems across both frontend and backend
• Strong proficiency in Python; hands-on experience with the FastAPI REST framework and Database ORMs
• Highly proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript; hands-on experience building modern frontend applications with React
• Must have a strong grasp of HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
• Proficiency in writing and executing unit tests using frameworks like pytest, React Testing Library, or similar tools
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini) into production applications
• Strong familiarity with AWS services for cloud-native application development
