Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the full customer journey for strategic aerospace and industrial accounts, guiding them from first concept sketch to high-volume production on Velo3D Sapphire metal-AM systems. You are the single point of accountability who turns technical curiosity into repeatable, revenue-generating manufacturing programs.
  • • Build deep, trusted relationships with customer design, manufacturing, and executive teams. Translate their mission-critical part requirements into a clear, data-backed roadmap that proves additive is not just feasible, but the superior path to cost, weight, and lead-time savings.
  • • Run end-to-end program management: scope statements of work, define acceptance criteria, lock schedules, and coordinate internal Applications Engineering, Field Service, and Supply Chain teams so every milestone is met on time and under budget.
  • • Leverage your hands-on engineering background to redesign castings, forgings, or hog-outs into SupportFree AM geometries. Use Solidworks, NX, CATIA, or similar CAD platforms, then import into Velo Flow to simulate builds, predict print time, and generate customer-ready cost models.
  • • Educate customers on Velo3D design allowables—surface finish, tolerances, material properties—so they understand both the technical envelope and the economic tipping points versus legacy processes. When a part pushes beyond today’s allowables, you articulate the gap and partner with Applications Engineering to close it.
  • • Act as the customer’s voice inside Velo3D. Distill field feedback into actionable product requirements that steer R&D priorities and accelerate the next wave of capability releases.
  • • Navigate complex, multi-party supply chains involving OEMs, tier-one suppliers, and contract manufacturers operating Sapphire printers. Resolve conflicts, balance capacity, and ensure quality standards are maintained across every node.
  • • Deliver measurable impact: within your first 12 months, convert early-stage engagements into a visible ramp in Sapphire utilization and repeat orders, turning pilot programs into long-term production contracts.
  • • Maintain meticulous documentation—project trackers, risk registers, technical reports, and CRM updates—so every stakeholder has real-time visibility into program health and next steps.
  • • Champion a culture of continuous improvement. After each program, lead post-mortems that capture lessons learned and feed best practices back into the global sales and applications teams.
  • • Represent Velo3D at trade shows, customer design reviews, and technical conferences, positioning the company as the definitive leader in SupportFree metal additive manufacturing.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Material Science, or related field
  • • 3+ years of industry experience in design engineering and manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing, casting, machining, or forging
  • • Demonstrated success taking projects from early-phase development through full-rate production
  • • Advanced proficiency in at least one major CAD package (Solidworks, Siemens NX, CATIA, or AutoCAD)
  • • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (Green Card) required for ITAR compliance

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive base salary range of $115,000–$160,000 plus performance bonus and equity participation
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with employer-paid premiums
  • • 401(k) plan with immediate employer matching contributions
  • • Fully remote work environment with flexible scheduling and monthly all-hands recognition awards
