📋 Description

• Join Fundraise Up as a Senior Fullstack Developer and become an integral part of a mission-driven company revolutionizing the nonprofit sector. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling our core fundraising platform, directly impacting the success of tens of millions of dollars in donations each month. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in a dynamic, global environment, contributing to a product that empowers leading nonprofits worldwide, including UNICEF and the Alzheimer’s Association.
• As a key contributor, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of resilient frontend and backend features. This includes designing, building, and maintaining critical components of our platform, such as the donation checkout experience, customizable embeddable widgets (each a standalone SPA), and comprehensive donor, organization, and partner portals. Your work will directly influence the user experience for millions of donors and the operational efficiency of numerous nonprofit organizations.
• You will architect and develop system components engineered for massive scale, capable of handling millions of monthly transactions. This requires a deep understanding of performance optimization, scalability patterns, and robust engineering practices. Your contributions will ensure our platform remains reliable, fast, and efficient, even under peak load conditions.
• A core aspect of this role involves writing clean, well-documented, and thoroughly testable code. We emphasize high-quality software development, and you will be expected to adhere to best practices, including comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. This commitment to quality ensures the long-term maintainability and stability of our product.
• You will actively participate in and drive architecture and technical design discussions. This is an opportunity to propose and implement elegant solutions to complex technical challenges, influencing the future direction of our technology stack and product architecture. • Proactively identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and areas for optimization across the platform. A proactive and analytical mindset is essential for maintaining and enhancing the performance and reliability of our high-throughput systems.
• The role involves working with a modern technology stack, including React and Node.js on the frontend and backend, with TypeScript used extensively across the codebase. You will also interact with technologies like Webpack for build optimization, Kafka for high-throughput messaging, Bull (Redis) for background processing, ClickHouse for analytics, and Elasticsearch for search capabilities.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional fullstack development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency with React and its ecosystem.
• Strong backend expertise with Node.js (experience with Koa or NestJS is highly preferred).
• Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (event loop, closures, promises, prototypes).
• Experience with Webpack configuration, performance optimization, and profiling.
• A keen eye for detail and a high sense of ownership and accountability for your work.
