📋 Description

• As a Fullstack Engineer on Patreon’s Creation team, you will play a pivotal role in empowering over 300,000 creators to express their creativity and build sustainable businesses through innovative media publishing tools, directly contributing to Patreon’s mission of funding the creative class and supporting the $10 billion+ generated by creators since inception.
• You will design, develop, and deliver high-impact fullstack features that enhance how creators produce and distribute content across web, mobile, and email, focusing on performance, user delight, and seamless monetization experiences that drive engagement and revenue.
• The Creation team is a New York-based, cross-functional product engineering group dedicated to building intuitive, scalable tools for media and newsletter creation, working closely with product, design, and data science to ship measurable value to creators in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
• Day to day, you will scale and expand Patreon’s media publishing capabilities by leading end-to-end development of features using React and TypeScript on the frontend and Python/MySQL on the backend, ensuring systems are reliable, performant, and aligned with user needs.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and fellow engineers to define, build, and iterate on features, leveraging A/B testing and data analysis to inform decisions and optimize for task completion speed and user satisfaction.
• You will contribute to a strong engineering culture by advocating for best practices, code quality, and user empathy, while mentoring peers and helping shape technical standards that elevate the team’s output and innovation velocity.
• You will dive into both frontend and backend codebases to deliver cohesive functionality, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure seamless integration across the stack, maintaining a bias toward shipping impactful improvements quickly and iteratively.
• Through this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern fullstack development, gain experience in data-informed product decisions, and grow your ability to balance technical trade-offs with user-centered design in a fast-paced, creator-focused environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency with modern frontend technologies including React and TypeScript
• Experience building and maintaining backend systems using Python and relational databases such as MySQL
• Strong collaboration skills with ability to communicate technical and product trade-offs clearly across disciplines
• Comfort working across the full stack to deliver end-to-end functionality
• Experience designing, executing, and analyzing A/B tests to drive data-informed product decisions
