As a Fullstack Engineer on the Institutional Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining secure, high-performance systems that safeguard digital assets for our institutional and enterprise clients. • In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and DevOps engineers to design, build, and deliver next-generation crypto custody and settlement services. This involves architecting solutions that can handle massive scale and maintain the highest levels of security and reliability.
• You will be responsible for building and maintaining new backend microservices using TypeScript and Node.js. These services will form the core of our custody, staking, and wallet operations, requiring a deep understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous programming.
• A significant aspect of the role involves integrating with various blockchain networks and external systems. This integration work is crucial for supporting seamless asset movements, processing transactions efficiently, and managing complex key management workflows.
• While the primary focus is on backend development, you will also contribute to frontend applications built with React and Next.js. This ensures that our operational visibility is clear and that the user experience for internal tools and client-facing interfaces is seamless and intuitive.
• You will leverage event-driven architectures, specifically using Kafka, to build robust systems for real-time data processing and efficient inter-service communication. This approach is key to maintaining responsiveness and scalability in our high-throughput environment.
• Writing clean, reusable, testable, and efficient code is paramount. You will uphold high standards for performance, observability, and fault tolerance, ensuring that our systems are not only functional but also resilient and easy to monitor.
• Collaboration is at the heart of our team's success. You will work across different engineering teams to design and optimize data models, APIs, and distributed architectures, fostering a shared understanding and collective ownership.
• You will actively participate in technical reviews, share your expertise through mentoring other engineers, and take full ownership of services throughout their entire lifecycle – from the initial Request for Comments (RFC) and design phases through to deployment and ongoing maintenance.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in fullstack or backend engineering within high-scale, high-availability systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with hands-on experience using modern frameworks.
• Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, and programming design patterns.
• Proven ability to design and deliver RESTful APIs and asynchronous event-based communication systems.
• Strong experience with SQL databases and schema design for performance and reliability.
• Solid understanding of React and modern frontend best practices, including state management (React Query, Context API, custom hooks).
• Experience with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and component-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Splunk).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in distributed, cross-functional teams.
