- • Conducting initial reviews and assessments (paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone) to evaluate how a claimant’s health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life, supporting DWP decisions on disability allowances.
- • Observing and reporting on individuals’ ability to carry out activities, analysing clinical information, and creating comprehensive 3,000–4,000-word evidence-based reports (up to 3 per day) with sufficient detail and justification.
- • Working within Capita Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS), delivering unbiased assessments for PIP, ESA, UC, and specialist benefits across Midlands, Wales, and Northern Ireland, contributing to fairer access to support for vulnerable people.
- • Developing clinical knowledge, expanding assessment skills beyond direct care, and making evidence-based clinical recommendations while receiving comprehensive training and self-development time.
🎯 Requirements
- • One year’s post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic.
- • Full registration with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or equivalent) without restrictions, conditions, and with a valid PIN.
- • Excellent observational and communication skills, including the ability to listen, empathise, and gather detailed information from claimants.
- • Ability to work efficiently, produce timely reports, and meet performance targets.
- • Solid experience using IT and Microsoft Office, including remote system access.
- • Current valid driving licence or access to transport for attending assessment centres on a rota basis.
- • Welsh language skills (spoken and/or written) are desirable to support Welsh-speaking service users effectively.
