📋 Description

• The Fundraising Manager will lead the Open Home Foundation’s fundraising strategy to secure resources that support open-source smart home projects like Home Assistant, ensuring long-term independence, privacy, and sustainability.
• Day to day, the role involves developing fundraising strategies across grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving; identifying and cultivating donor relationships; writing grant applications; managing sponsorship programs; maintaining CRM and reporting systems; and collaborating with leadership and project communities to align fundraising with organizational goals.
• The Open Home Foundation is a Switzerland-based non-profit supporting open-source smart home initiatives, with a fully remote team and a mission centered on privacy, choice, and sustainability in technology.
• In this role, you will build expertise in philanthropic strategy for open-source technology, deepen relationships with funders and sponsors, and directly contribute to the growth and resilience of widely used open-source projects.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of fundraising or development experience with a track record of securing significant gifts, grants, or corporate sponsorships
• Experience owning a fundraising function or leading major fundraising initiatives end-to-end
• Strong grant-writing and funder-reporting skills
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Professional fluency in English (written and verbal)
• US residency and eligibility to work within the United States
