- • As a Game Software Tester at Battle Road Digital, part of Onebrief Inc., you will play a critical role in validating and refining AtomEngine—a proprietary, cloud-first game engine designed to simulate millions of entities in a persistent, planet-scale sandbox for military training and operations. Your work directly contributes to building a transformative simulation platform that enhances decision-making and operational readiness for defense customers worldwide.
- • You will learn to master AtomEngine by creating and executing war-game scenarios in both single-player and multi-player configurations, performing rigorous testing across load, stability, functionality, and usability dimensions. Your day-to-day involves identifying bugs, documenting issues with precision, providing actionable feedback, and collaborating closely with developers and test leads to ensure the ModKit—used by customers to customize and extend the engine—delivers a seamless, powerful user experience.
- • You will join a small, expert team of technologists, game developers, and innovators at Battle Road, where military expertise meets cutting-edge game technology. This hybrid role blends deep technical testing with creative problem-solving in a mission-driven environment focused on delivering high-fidelity simulations for real-world defense applications.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in game engine testing, modding workflows, and QA automation while contributing to a product used by elite military planners. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cloud-based simulation systems, version control, bug tracking, and test management tools—positioning you at the intersection of gaming technology and defense innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3 to 5 years of experience in video game quality assurance with a strong understanding of QA principles, methodologies, and processes.
- • Experience as a game developer hobbyist or tinkerer, proficient in scripting or visual scripting tools such as Unreal Blueprints, GDScript, or similar platforms.
- • Familiarity with PC gaming hardware and industry-standard testing tools including version control systems, bug tracking systems, and test management software.
- • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to identify, prioritize, and communicate testing findings effectively.
- • Requirement to be on-site in the Raleigh, North Carolina area 3 days per week as part of the hybrid work arrangement.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide real-time, actionable test feedback.
