📋 Description

• The General Accountant - Accounts Payable role at StickerYou is a critical position responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the company’s payables function, directly impacting financial health and operational trust by managing end-to-end AP processes with ownership and initiative.
• This role matters because it goes beyond transaction processing to drive spending analysis, improve controls, and support cross-functional decision-making, enabling the company to allocate resources wisely and maintain strong vendor and internal stakeholder relationships.
• Day to day, the incumbent will manage the full AP cycle including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and payment execution via ACH, wires, and electronic methods, ensuring all invoices are accurate, properly supported, and compliant with company policies.
• They will oversee credit card and employee expense processing, maintain clean vendor subledgers, prepare AP-related journal entries and reconciliations, and ensure accurate period-end accruals to support reliable financial reporting.
• The role involves proactively reviewing spending and vendor activity for anomalies, missing information, or inconsistencies, following up to resolve discrepancies and prevent errors before they impact financial statements.
• They will continuously evaluate AP processes to identify inefficiencies, reduce manual work, improve approval workflows, and strengthen documentation, taking initiative on system improvements within Procurify and QuickBooks Online.
• Cross-functionally, they will collaborate with department leaders to ensure spend is properly understood, coded, and approved, communicating clearly when information is missing or approvals are unclear to maintain financial integrity.
• As part of a lean accounting team, they will cross-train on other accounting processes and provide coverage as needed, contributing to team resilience and broader financial operations knowledge.
• The role offers meaningful exposure to senior finance leadership, including direct reporting to the Finance & Accounting Manager and close collaboration with the CFO and business leaders, providing visibility into strategic financial decisions.
• The person in this role can develop deep expertise in AP automation, spend analysis, and process optimization, gaining experience that translates to senior accounting or finance specialist roles within high-growth e-commerce environments.
• They will cultivate strong stakeholder management skills, learn to interpret financial data in context, and build confidence in questioning assumptions — turning routine payables into a strategic function that supports smarter spending across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience with solid foundational knowledge in general accounting principles beyond accounts payable.
• Experience owning AP processes, not just performing data entry, including end-to-end cycle management and vendor relationship ownership.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems, and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations.
• Ability to review spending and vendor activity for anomalies, prepare journal entries, and support audit requests related to AP and expenses.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with comfort interacting with stakeholders at all levels and managing competing priorities independently.
