📋 Description

• As the first General Counsel at OpenRouter Inc., you will build and lead the legal function to support the company’s rapid growth as a unified interface for AI models, serving as a strategic partner to the executive team and Board.
• You will own the legal roadmap, manage outside counsel, and develop systems and processes to handle legal work across commercial contracts, provider agreements, compliance, corporate governance, and employment matters while enabling speed and informed decision-making.
• You will join a fast-growing, profitable AI infrastructure company founded in 2023 that partners with model developers, infrastructure providers, and customers ranging from individual developers to large enterprises, operating at the forefront of the AI ecosystem.
• You will have the opportunity to shape the legal foundation of a critical AI platform, build a trusted and pragmatic legal team, and gain deep experience in AI regulation, enterprise technology contracting, and high-growth company scaling.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. and active bar membership
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience
• Significant experience with technology companies, venture-backed companies, commercial contracting, corporate transactions, M&A, or financing
• Experience advising executives on strategic legal and business issues
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to balance speed, risk, and business outcomes
• Ability to manage multiple legal domains without needing a large team on day one
