📋 Description
- • Juniper Square is on a mission to democratize private markets, making assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital more accessible. By digitizing these markets, we aim to inject efficiency, transparency, and broader access into a significant part of our financial ecosystem. If you are passionate about leveraging technology to improve financial markets and thrive in a values-driven organization, we invite you to explore this opportunity.
- • We embrace a digital-first operational philosophy, enabling effective collaboration across our geographically dispersed teams in 27 U.S. states, 2 Canadian Provinces, India, Luxembourg, and England. While we offer a fully remote work experience, we also maintain physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai, and Bangalore for those who prefer an in-office setting.
- • The Global Accounting & Reporting Manager role is a pivotal, hands-on individual contributor leadership position. You will be instrumental in executing and overseeing our global accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and managing the close processes across our diverse portfolio of entities and jurisdictions.
- • This is a unique 'player-coach' opportunity. You will not only be directly involved in executing complex accounting tasks but will also provide essential structure, guidance, and review oversight to junior team members and potentially offshore resources. Success in this role hinges on a robust understanding of technical accounting principles, exceptional operational rigor, and a collaborative spirit, particularly with the FP&A team, to ensure precise alignment between forecasts and actual results, and to deliver executive-level reporting.
- • We are seeking an individual who excels in a high-growth environment and is adept at managing both the granular details of execution and the strategic imperative of continuous process improvement.
- • Key responsibilities include the meticulous execution of critical components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close. This involves preparing and posting complex journal entries, performing detailed reconciliations, and managing multi-entity consolidations to ensure the integrity of our financial statements.
- • You will take ownership of vital balance sheet reconciliations, diligently investigating and ensuring the timely resolution of any variances or reconciling items, thereby maintaining the accuracy and completeness of our financial position.
- • A core part of this role involves performing thorough monthly flux and variance analysis. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive financial statements and all supporting schedules, providing clear insights into financial performance.
- • You will manage the day-to-day global accounting operations, overseeing crucial areas such as accruals, expense classification, cutoff procedures, intercompany transactions, and period-end validation checks to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- • Maintaining and updating our global accounting policies and documentation is essential. You will ensure adherence to all statutory and reporting requirements across different jurisdictions, upholding the highest standards of financial compliance.
- • A significant aspect of this role is partnering closely with the FP&A team. This collaboration will focus on aligning our Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) results with management reporting, delivering insightful forecast-to-actual analysis, and providing actionable insights that contribute to improving overall forecast accuracy.
- • You will serve as the primary accounting point person within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, likely NetSuite. A key objective will be to drive automation, optimize system integrations, and implement process improvements aimed at accelerating our financial close timelines.
- • This role requires active support for audits and compliance initiatives. You will be responsible for maintaining robust internal controls and coordinating effectively with other key departments, including Tax, Treasury, and Finance Systems, to ensure seamless operations and compliance.
- • You will be tasked with preparing executive-ready reporting materials. These materials should clearly highlight key financial drivers, business insights, and performance trends, enabling informed decision-making at the highest levels.
- • Finally, you will provide crucial oversight, mentorship, and process documentation to support the development and effectiveness of the accounting team, fostering a culture of accounting excellence and continuous learning.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- • CPA preferred.
- • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for a blend of public accounting and industry experience.
- • Deep and current knowledge of US GAAP.
- • Proven experience managing complex multi-entity close processes.
- • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and close reporting tools (e.g., Numeric).
- • Demonstrated experience partnering effectively with FP&A teams.
- • Experience in a high-growth or multi-entity global environment is highly desirable.
- • Familiarity with multi-currency consolidation is a plus.
- • Exposure to transaction readiness activities, such as audits, M&A, or IPO preparation, is beneficial.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees and their families.
- • Company-paid life insurance.
- • Robust mental wellness support and coverage.
- • Support for fertility treatments and growing families.
- • Flexible Time Off (FTO) policy, in addition to company-observed holidays.
- • Generous paid leave policies, including family leave, medical leave, and bereavement leave.
- • Retirement savings plans to support long-term financial security.
- • A customizable allowance for home office setup and technology.
- • An annual stipend dedicated to professional development and continuous learning.
