📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end global billing operations, managing the full lifecycle from signed order form through invoice generation, delivery, cash application, and reporting.
• Serve as functional owner of the billing platform, configuring and maintaining systems to ensure accuracy, scalability, and audit readiness.
• Manage and develop a team of billing and AR professionals, with responsibility to expand the team as the company scales.
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing across complex pricing models including subscription, usage-based, and hybrid structures.
• Act as the primary escalation point for customer billing disputes and accounts receivable inquiries, resolving issues with speed and precision.
• Partner with Finance Systems to define billing and revenue requirements, validate data flows between billing platforms and ERP systems, and drive system implementations.
• Automate manual billing workflows and implement scalable controls to reduce errors and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with Product and Engineering teams to test end-to-end billing functionality for new product launches and pricing changes prior to go-live.
• Ensure upstream billing data integrity and completeness to support accurate monthly revenue recognition and general ledger close.
• Support external auditors with billing and AR-related documentation, controls, and compliance requests.
• Maintain and update SOPs, playbooks, and process documentation to support team growth and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Revenue Accounting to determine appropriate ASC 606 treatment for non-standard deal structures and complex contract terms.
• Build and maintain KPI dashboards tracking billing accuracy, invoice cycle time, dispute rates, and days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Prepare detailed billing and AR reporting for finance leadership, providing insights to improve cash flow and operational performance.
• Work cross-functionally with RevOps, Deal Desk, Finance, and Engineering to align billing processes with sales, contracting, and product development.
• Drive continuous improvement in billing operations by identifying bottlenecks, proposing solutions, and implementing scalable processes.

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of progressive experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, or revenue operations
• Experience managing billing in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
• Detailed understanding of AR-related internal controls, approvals, documentation, and audit requirements
• Hands-on experience with modern billing or order management systems and ERP integrations (e.g., Zuora, Stripe, SuiteBilling)
• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• Proven ability to bring structure, consistency, and accountability to operational processes
