- • Lead end-to-end global billing operations, managing the full lifecycle from signed order form through invoice generation, delivery, cash application, and reporting.
- • Serve as functional owner of the billing platform, configuring and maintaining systems to ensure accuracy, scalability, and audit readiness.
- • Manage and develop a billing team, with responsibility for hiring, mentoring, and expanding the function as the company scales.
- • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing across complex pricing models including subscription, usage-based, and hybrid structures.
- • Act as the primary escalation point for customer billing disputes and AR-related inquiries, resolving issues with precision and speed.
- • Partner with Finance Systems to define billing and revenue requirements, validate data flows between billing platforms and ERP systems, and implement new financial controls.
- • Drive automation of manual billing workflows and implement scalable controls to reduce errors and improve operational efficiency.
- • Coordinate with Product and Engineering teams to test and validate billing logic for new product launches and pricing changes prior to go-live.
- • Ensure upstream billing data integrity and completeness for accurate revenue recognition and general ledger entries ahead of monthly close.
- • Support external auditors with billing and accounts receivable documentation, compliance checks, and audit preparation.
- • Maintain and update SOPs, playbooks, and process documentation to support team growth and regulatory compliance.
- • Collaborate with Revenue Accounting on ASC 606 treatment for non-standard deal structures and complex contract terms.
- • Build and maintain KPI dashboards tracking billing accuracy, invoice cycle time, dispute rates, and days sales outstanding (DSO).
- • Prepare and deliver billing-related financial analyses and reports to finance leadership for strategic decision-making.
- • Work cross-functionally with RevOps, Deal Desk, Finance, and Engineering to align billing processes with sales, contracting, and product development cycles.
- • Ensure compliance with internal controls, documentation standards, and audit requirements across multi-entity, multi-currency billing operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • 9+ years of progressive experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, or revenue operations
- • Experience managing billing in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
- • Hands-on experience with modern billing or order management systems (e.g., Zuora, Stripe, SuiteBilling) and ERP integrations
- • Proven people management experience leading and developing teams
- • Detailed understanding of AR-related internal controls, approvals, documentation, and audit requirements
- • Demonstrated ability to bring structure, consistency, and accountability to operational processes in a fast-paced environment
