- • Serve as the Global Deputy Data Protection Officer (DPO) reporting directly to the Chief Data Protection Officer, supporting the implementation and enforcement of global data protection compliance across all jurisdictions where Trustly operates.
- • Act as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities, regulators, and supervisory bodies on all matters relating to GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable global data privacy laws.
- • Collaborate with legal, compliance, product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure data processing activities align with regulatory requirements and internal data protection policies.
- • Lead and coordinate data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for new products, services, and processing activities, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of privacy risks.
- • Provide expert guidance and training to employees across global offices on data protection principles, privacy-by-design methodologies, and compliance obligations.
- • Monitor evolving global data privacy regulations and advise leadership on strategic implications for Trustly’s business model, product roadmap, and international expansion.
- • Support the investigation and management of data subject access requests (DSARs), data breaches, and incident response protocols in accordance with legal timelines and reporting obligations.
- • Maintain and update the company’s records of processing activities (ROPA) and ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready at all times.
- • Work closely with external legal counsel and privacy consultants to ensure alignment on complex compliance matters and regulatory interpretations.
- • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Trustly’s global privacy program, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- • Represent Trustly in industry forums, working groups, and regulatory consultations related to Open Banking, payment data flows, and consumer privacy standards.
- • Ensure alignment between data protection requirements and Trustly’s mission to revolutionize payment experiences through secure, transparent, and user-centric design.
- • Conduct regular audits and assessments of third-party vendors and partners to verify compliance with data processing agreements and privacy obligations.
- • Maintain a proactive posture in anticipating regulatory changes and translating them into actionable internal controls and training initiatives.
- • Foster a culture of privacy awareness across the organization by promoting accountability, transparency, and ethical data handling practices at all levels.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Deputy DPO or equivalent privacy compliance role within a global fintech or payments company
- • In-depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other international data protection regulations
- • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional privacy initiatives across engineering, product, and legal teams
- • Experience managing data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and records of processing activities (ROPA)
- • Strong understanding of Open Banking, payment systems, and financial data flows
- • Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise senior leadership and train non-technical staff
