đź“‹ Description
- • As the Global Director, AI Industry Solutions for the Energy sector, you will be at the forefront of transforming one of the world's most critical industries through the power of Artificial Intelligence and advanced data analytics. This is a pivotal, deeply technical, and customer-facing leadership role that requires a profound understanding of AI/ML technologies and their practical application within the complex landscape of oil & gas, utilities, power generation, renewables, and energy trading.
- • Your primary mission will be to translate Cloudera's robust AI platform capabilities—including Cloudera AI Workbench, AI Registry, our comprehensive Enterprise AI Ecosystem, and cutting-edge agentic AI frameworks—into tangible, production-grade, industry-specific solutions. These solutions will address critical business challenges and unlock new opportunities at scale across the entire energy value chain, from upstream exploration to downstream distribution and trading.
- • You will be instrumental in developing and owning the global AI industry solutions strategy for the Energy sector. This encompasses crafting detailed AI business plans, developing comprehensive solution playbooks, and architecting technical reference architectures. These will meticulously map Cloudera's platform features to high-value energy use cases, such as predictive asset maintenance for critical infrastructure, optimizing grid operations for efficiency and stability, enhancing reservoir modeling for exploration, improving drilling efficiency, developing sophisticated energy trading analytics, accurately forecasting demand, monitoring emissions for regulatory compliance and sustainability goals, analyzing SCADA/IoT data for operational insights, predicting renewable generation output, and automating safety and compliance processes.
- • A significant part of your role will involve leading hands-on AI solutioning engagements with Cloudera's strategic energy customers. You will be responsible for designing end-to-end architectures that seamlessly integrate various components of the AI lifecycle. This includes real-time IoT data ingestion from sensors and operational systems, robust processing of sensor data, sophisticated feature engineering, efficient model training, implementing advanced Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) for specific tasks, deploying models for inference, and ensuring robust governance and lifecycle management of AI models, all orchestrated on the Cloudera platform.
- • You will serve as the primary AI technical authority for the Energy sector, commanding deep respect and credibility. This means being able to engage in authoritative discussions about machine learning and AI workflows, LLM orchestration, agentic AI patterns, time-series modeling for operational data, digital twin architectures for asset management, and operational AI strategies. Your audience will range from Chief Data Officers (CDOs) and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) to Chief Digital Officers and lead ML engineering teams within major energy corporations.
- • Collaboration will be key. You will work closely with Cloudera's Product Management, Engineering, and the dedicated Cloudera AI team. Your insights from customer engagements will directly influence the AI product roadmap, particularly concerning edge-to-cloud data architectures, real-time streaming analytics capabilities, and the critical convergence of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) data.
- • You will also engage with key partners within the Enterprise AI Ecosystem, such as NVIDIA, Anthropic, AWS, and Pinecone. This collaboration will focus on co-developing integrated energy solutions and establishing joint go-to-market motions to expand market reach and impact.
- • To accelerate customer adoption, you will build and publish reusable AI Accelerators (AMPs) and detailed solution blueprints. These assets will enable the rapid deployment of industry-specific AI use cases, reducing time-to-value for our energy clients.
- • During strategic sales cycles, you will provide deep technical AI expertise and support. This includes whiteboarding complex architectures, leading the design and execution of proof-of-concept projects, and guiding executive-level AI strategy discussions with major energy companies and utilities.
- • Developing thought leadership is crucial for establishing Cloudera's position as the premier enterprise AI platform for the energy sector. You will contribute through technical blogs, present at industry conferences, and create compelling solution demonstrations that showcase the power and versatility of Cloudera's offerings.
- • Finally, you will represent Cloudera at key energy industry forums and events, acting as a visible and influential voice for the company's AI strategy in this vital sector.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, data & analytics, or enterprise software, with significant, demonstrable experience within the Energy sector (oil & gas, utilities, power generation, renewables, or energy trading).
- • Deep, hands-on fluency with AI/ML technologies and modern AI stacks, including the ability to discuss model architectures, training pipelines, inference optimization, and production ML systems with authority. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, Spark MLlib, MLflow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and data engineering fundamentals (Spark, Kafka, Flink, NiFi, Iceberg, data lakehouse architectures) are essential.
- • Proven experience working with energy enterprises on AI transformation initiatives, data modernization projects, OT/IT data integration challenges, and the adoption of generative AI technologies. This includes a strong understanding of energy-specific data challenges such as high-velocity IoT/sensor streaming, edge computing, time-series analytics, and geospatial data processing.
- • Executive presence with a demonstrated ability to establish trusted advisor relationships with C-level executives, coupled with the capacity to engage at a deep technical level with data science and engineering teams. Excellent communication and public speaking skills are paramount.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy
- • Support for work-life balance, including Unplugged Days
- • Flexible Work From Home (WFH) Policy
- • Comprehensive Mental & Physical Wellness Programs
- • Phone and Internet Reimbursement Program
- • Access to Continued Career Development and Training Opportunities
- • Competitive Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits Package
- • Paid Volunteer Time
- • Active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
