  • • Deel is at the forefront of revolutionizing global work, offering an all-in-one payroll and HR platform designed for the modern, distributed workforce. Our mission is to unlock global opportunity for every person, team, and business, breaking down traditional barriers to hiring and career advancement. As the fastest-growing SaaS company in history, we are building the essential infrastructure for the future of work, fostering a more diverse and inclusive global economy. In 2024 alone, Deel facilitated over $11.2 billion in payments across nearly 100 currencies and provided vital healthcare and benefits to workers in 109 countries, ensuring global employees are paid accurately and protected, regardless of their location.
  • • The Global Senior Payroll Associate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence of Deel's global payroll functions. This position is critical for maintaining the integrity of our payroll data, governing our systems, generating essential reports, and conducting advanced data analytics. The Senior Payroll Associate will act as a strategic partner, collaborating closely with internal teams to collect and validate payroll data, drive significant process improvements, oversee crucial system enhancements, and provide robust support for global payroll initiatives, audits, and complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities.
  • • In this role, you will be responsible for leading the comprehensive end-to-end validation of payroll data across all operational regions. This involves meticulously checking for accuracy, completeness, and readiness before payroll execution. You will perform critical reconciliations, proactively identify and address any discrepancies, and ensure their timely resolution to prevent downstream issues. Furthermore, you will actively support the preparation and submission of essential monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, ensuring they meet all internal and external requirements.
  • • A key aspect of your responsibility will be maintaining the global payroll calendars and collaborating with the Global Payroll Programs & Product Manager to integrate any new regulatory changes or procedural updates into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will ensure that operational controls, including robust approval workflows, critical audit checkpoints, and thorough compliance reviews, are consistently applied across all data validation processes. This includes preparing and providing detailed documentation to support various audits, compliance reviews, and governance initiatives, demonstrating Deel's commitment to best practices.
  • • You will serve as the primary liaison between our internal payroll teams, regional operations, external payroll vendors, and executive stakeholders. This involves providing expert guidance on operational requirements, coordinating critical deliverables, and ensuring seamless alignment on timelines, processes, and compliance standards. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships will be paramount in this cross-functional capacity.
  • • Collaborating closely with the Global Payroll Programs & Product Manager, Product, Engineering, and other Payroll teams, you will contribute to the implementation of vital system enhancements, process automation strategies, and the expansion of payroll operations into new countries and entities. You will be instrumental in identifying system gaps, troubleshooting complex payroll system issues, assisting with user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring production readiness before any new rollouts or significant changes are implemented.
  • • You will actively support a range of global payroll initiatives, including driving process improvements, managing system updates, implementing automation solutions, and facilitating the successful onboarding of new entities onto our payroll platform. Your assistance will be crucial in internal and external audits, where you will be responsible for preparing necessary documentation, clearly explaining processes, and ensuring adherence to control compliance. Maintaining an organized and accessible payroll records library is also a key responsibility, ensuring consistent and orderly record-keeping practices.
  • • In the context of M&A activities, you will provide essential support by managing payroll data migration, overseeing employee transitions, and coordinating with vendors to ensure the accurate and seamless integration of acquired entities' payroll operations. This requires a meticulous approach to data handling and a strong understanding of payroll integration complexities.
  • • Finally, you will leverage your analytical skills to scrutinize payroll data, detect anomalies, identify emerging trends, and proactively recommend strategic process improvements. You will ensure that all payroll data and reports consistently meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Your work will directly ensure that all payroll transactions are correctly loaded and posted, providing the payroll processing teams with complete, validated data to proceed efficiently with subsequent payroll cycles, thereby safeguarding employee compensation and company compliance.
