Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the strategic thesis for every new client engagement at Directive — the why and the how behind how we're going to hit the client's actual business goals — and use that thesis to drive pilot-to-retainer conversion across our Performance, Communications, and Commerce divisions.
- • Diagnose the business, define the strategy, sequence the work, and align channel teams on a coherent integrated plan that ties directly to the client's commercial outcomes for each new client engagement.
- • Drive pilot-to-retainer conversion rate as the primary business metric, owning the percentage of 90-day pilots that convert into 12-month retainers.
- • Operate above channel lanes to ensure cross-capability strategic coherence, deciding where Paid, SEO, Content, Creative, Programmatic, RevOps, and Comms each fit (or don't fit) for a given client and how they sequence and reinforce each other.
- • Partner internally with subject matter experts across all capabilities to pressure-test strategy against what's executable and what will move the client's business, earning trust as the integrator of the 'why' and 'how'.
- • Shadow the CEO during the first 90 days to learn how to diagnose client businesses, determine relevant capabilities, sequence work, and set the bar for 'good strategy' at Directive.
- • Work as a high-leverage individual contributor without managing teams, influencing through clarity of thought rather than reporting authority.
- • Apply 10+ years of agency or in-house B2B marketing experience, with at least the last 5 years in a senior strategy role spanning brand/communications and performance/demand.
- • Demonstrate technical fluency across at least four of: Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, Content, LLM/AI search, Creative, Programmatic, Lifecycle, RevOps.
- • Bring a track record of setting strategy for B2B clients across multiple verticals, ideally including services, industrial/manufacturing, SaaS, and B2B commerce.
- • Think in terms of the client's P&L, not just marketing P&L, and be energized by collaborating with SMEs who know more than you about their specific channel.
