📋 Description

• Head of Accounting at HappyRobot AI Inc., a high-growth AI infrastructure startup backed by a16z and Y Combinator, responsible for building the accounting function from scratch as the company scales.
• Own monthly close end-to-end, design accounting policies and controls, lead order-to-cash, drive ERP selection and implementation, identify AI-powered finance tools, prepare for first audit, support strategic financial decisions, and ensure tax and regulatory compliance.
• Join a mission-driven team building AI workers that autonomously run enterprise operations across voice, email, and systems, with a culture rooted in extreme ownership, craftsmanship, and first-principles thinking.
• Opportunity to establish financial foundations, gain deep operational impact, work cross-functionally with engineering and sales, and grow as a strategic finance leader in a fast-moving AI startup.

🎯 Requirements

• Builder mindset with experience establishing accounting systems and processes from 0 to 1 in high-growth environments.
• 10–16 years of relevant experience, including Big 4 or national firm background (2–4 years preferred) and strong GAAP fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar), including evaluation, selection, or implementation.
• Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders such as engineers, sales, and founders.
• High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial and customer data.
