• • As the Head of AI & Automation at n8n GmbH, you will spearhead the strategic integration and adoption of artificial intelligence and automation across the entire organization. Your primary mission is to transform n8n into a leading exemplar of how modern SaaS companies leverage AI and automation, creating a more efficient, enjoyable, and innovative workplace for all employees.
• • This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who can not only define the strategic direction but also execute practical programs that drive tangible business impact. You will be instrumental in shaping the company's future by embedding AI and automation into the fabric of our daily operations, from employee onboarding to product development.
• • **INTERNAL ADOPTION PROGRAMS:** You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive internal adoption programs. This includes conceptualizing and running engaging hackathons, targeted enablement sessions, and robust dogfooding initiatives designed to foster a culture of AI and automation usage among all team members. The goal is to move beyond theoretical understanding to practical, everyday application.
• • You will develop repeatable, scalable programs with clearly defined success metrics. These metrics will encompass participation rates, employee satisfaction with the tools and training, and, most importantly, the measurable business impact derived from increased AI and automation adoption. This data-driven approach will ensure continuous improvement and demonstrate the value of these initiatives.
• • A key aspect of this responsibility involves close collaboration with the People Operations team. You will work together to seamlessly integrate AI and automation habits into core HR processes, including employee onboarding, learning and development (L&D) programs, and performance management rituals. This ensures that AI and automation become ingrained aspects of the employee lifecycle.
• • **AI WATCH & INSIGHTS:** You will lead a proactive and structured AI watch initiative to stay ahead of the curve. This involves continuously monitoring market trends, researching peer company practices, and identifying emerging AI and automation tools and technologies that could benefit n8n.
• • The insights gathered from this watch will be translated into prioritized pilot projects, actionable process improvements, and clear internal guidance for employees. Your ability to connect external developments with internal opportunities will be crucial for driving innovation.
• • You will define essential guardrails and best practices for AI and automation usage. These guidelines will strike a critical balance between enabling rapid adoption and experimentation, ensuring data safety and ethical considerations, and achieving measurable, positive outcomes for the business.
• • **CONTENT & EVANGELISM:** A significant part of your role will be to champion the use of AI and automation both internally and externally. You will ensure the creation of high-quality, reusable internal assets that document our practices, successes, and learnings. Simultaneously, you will oversee the development of external-facing content that showcases n8n as a leader in AI and automation adoption within the SaaS industry.
• • You will collaborate closely with the Marketing team to amplify internal success stories, share thought leadership pieces, and position n8n as an innovator in the AI space. This external evangelism will enhance our brand reputation and attract talent.
• • Furthermore, you will equip our Sales and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams with compelling narratives, practical demonstrations, and essential artifacts that highlight n8n's modern ways of working, leveraging AI and automation to enhance our own operations and customer solutions.
• • **TEAM LEADERSHIP & DELIVERY:** You will lead and grow the Automation team, starting with direct management of one manager and their team, with plans to scale the department significantly to 15+ members by 2026. This requires strong leadership and strategic hiring capabilities.
• • You will be responsible for setting the team's vision, defining Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and establishing clear performance standards. Your role involves coaching team members for exceptional results while fostering an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and continuous learning.
• • You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of automation products and initiatives, ensuring seamless cross-functional execution. This involves close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Business Operations teams to align efforts and achieve strategic goals.
