📋 Description

• As the Head of AI Strategy & Development at neoBIM, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of construction technology by leading our artificial intelligence initiatives. This is a pivotal role for an individual who possesses a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on technical expertise, ready to define and execute the AI roadmap for a company poised to become a market leader in AI-powered Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• You will be responsible for establishing and driving neoBIM's overarching AI strategy. This involves not just identifying opportunities for AI integration but also meticulously planning and executing the steps needed to realize those opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company's business objectives and product vision. Your strategic foresight will guide the team towards innovative solutions that address complex challenges within the construction industry.
• A core aspect of your role will be to own the entire AI stack. This encompasses the end-to-end development of sophisticated AI systems. You will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of generative 3D models, leveraging the power of large language models (LLMs), and developing advanced multi-modal neural networks. Your leadership will ensure these systems are robust, scalable, and capable of delivering significant value.
• We are seeking a leader who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. You will actively contribute to core development tasks, demonstrating technical prowess in areas such as prototyping novel AI solutions, meticulously training complex models, debugging intricate issues, and fine-tuning for optimal performance. You will serve as a technical authority, leading by example and providing critical guidance to the engineering team on complex architectural and implementation decisions.
• Your focus will be on driving product-centered innovation. This means translating cutting-edge AI research and theoretical advancements into tangible, value-creating features that enhance neoBIM's product suite. You will identify opportunities to automate processes, optimize designs, and unlock data-driven insights that can revolutionize planning and construction workflows, making them more efficient and intelligent.
• You will champion the development of generative 3D models, exploring how AI can create, modify, and analyze complex architectural and structural designs. This includes investigating novel approaches to procedural generation, style transfer, and intelligent design exploration within the BIM context.
• A significant part of your contribution will involve the application and advancement of Large Language Models (LLMs). You will explore how LLMs can be used for tasks such as natural language querying of BIM data, automated report generation, intelligent documentation, and enhancing collaborative workflows through semantic understanding of project information.
• Furthermore, you will lead the charge in developing and integrating multi-modal AI systems. This involves combining different data modalities – such as text, images, and 3D geometry – to create more comprehensive and context-aware AI solutions. This could include AI systems that can interpret visual site data, understand textual design requirements, and relate them to 3D BIM models.
• You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of AI systems, from initial conception and data preparation through to model training, deployment, rigorous performance monitoring, and continuous iteration. This holistic ownership ensures that our AI solutions are not only innovative but also reliable and effective in real-world construction environments.
• You will establish and maintain best practices in MLOps, ensuring that our AI development and deployment processes are efficient, scalable, and robust. This includes implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for AI models, utilizing containerization technologies like Docker, orchestrating deployments with Kubernetes, and employing tools for experiment tracking and model versioning.
• You will foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation within the AI team, encouraging exploration of new research, sharing of knowledge, and the adoption of state-of-the-art techniques. Your leadership will inspire the team to push the boundaries of what's possible in AI for construction.
• You will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and domain experts to ensure that AI initiatives are aligned with market needs and deliver maximum business impact. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders will be crucial for driving adoption and buy-in across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in defining and executing AI strategy within a product and engineering context, preferably in a high-growth tech environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, coupled with strong software engineering practices and the ability to contribute directly to code development.
• Deep, hands-on experience with training, fine-tuning, and deploying Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, BERT, LLaMA, Mixtral) and generative AI systems (e.g., Diffusion Models, VAEs, GANs).
• Demonstrated track record in building and optimizing multimodal AI systems or 3D-capable models, including architectures like Vision Transformers, NeRFs, or advanced generative 3D approaches.
• Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, CI/CD for ML, data versioning) for building enterprise-grade AI infrastructure.
• Strong academic foundation in statistics, optimization, and deep learning theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex, real-world problems.
