- • Lead and scale Lawhive’s client money function for a six-month fixed-term contract, reporting directly to the Head of Compliance.
- • Take full ownership of all client money processes, ensuring strict adherence to SRA Accounts Rules and regulatory requirements.
- • Manage, mentor, and develop a growing client money team, setting clear performance standards and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
- • Oversee team workload and task prioritisation to ensure timely delivery of financial operations with a strong sense of urgency.
- • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with SRA reconciliations and reporting obligations.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for integrating client money workflows into Lawhive’s proprietary AI-native platform.
- • Identify gaps in current systems and clearly articulate required platform changes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- • Collaborate closely with product, operations, and engineering teams to prioritise and implement technology-driven improvements to client money processes.
- • Maintain oversight of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance and proactive risk mitigation.
- • Drive continuous enhancement of client money operations through process optimisation and automation initiatives.
- • Act as a key strategic voice in shaping the future of legal finance within a tech-enabled law firm environment.
- • Influence cross-functionally across technical and non-technical stakeholders to align finance operations with platform development and business growth.
- • Set the benchmark for legal cashiering excellence across Lawhive and ensure consistent application of best practices company-wide.
- • Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, managing multiple high-priority tasks with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- • Embody a growth mindset and actively contribute to building a high-performing finance function that supports Lawhive’s international expansion.
- • Participate in regular team-building activities and social events to strengthen collaboration and company culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in legal finance, client money, or legal cashiering with demonstrated team leadership
- • Deep knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and proven track record in SRA reconciliations and reporting
- • Strong experience creating and implementing financial policies and procedures, particularly around AML compliance
- • Proven ability to lead teams through periods of growth and change while maintaining operational excellence
- • Comfortable identifying system gaps and clearly articulating platform changes needed for compliance and efficiency
- • Strong communication skills to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
