Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As Head of Collections and Recovery Strategy (US) at Lendable Ltd, you will own the end-to-end collections and recoveries function for US Loans, including strategy, process, data, and vendor relationships, with direct reporting to the US Loans MD and cross-functional partnership across operations, risk, product, and tech.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include auditing current collections operations from first principles, designing and owning the collections strategy across the full delinquency lifecycle (early arrears to recovery), building and owning the analytics function (including data extraction, model building, KPI definition, and team growth), owning contact strategy optimization, managing third-party agency and legal partner relationships, collaborating with product and tech on scalable tooling and automation, partnering with legal and compliance on US state-level regulatory frameworks, and defining and owning key performance KRs such as cure rates, recovery rates, cost-to-collect, and charge-off rates.
- • You will join a fast-growing, profitable UK-based fintech unicorn (over 700 employees) backed by Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs, known for rebuilding core consumer finance products (loans, credit cards, car finance) with technology that delivers funds in minutes, not days, and expanding into the US market to challenge legacy banking systems.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to take ownership from day one, drive material impact on Lendable’s US trajectory, work in small, resourceful teams, build in-house technology using AI and new data sources, and potentially expand your scope to cover US Cards as the business scales — shaping a scalable, analytics-led collections function that replaces headcount-dependent processes with intelligent automation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4–8 years of hands-on experience in US consumer collections or recoveries, ideally at a fast-moving fintech, with ownership of a delinquency book and proven ability to build best-in-class operations
- • Familiarity with the US regulatory landscape for consumer collections, including FDCPA and state-level rules
- • Strong hands-on analytics ability: comfortable pulling own data, building models, defining metrics, and growing an analytics function
- • Experience managing and evaluating third-party collections vendors and legal partners
- • Track record of redesigning processes from the ground up, not just maintaining existing systems
- • Comfortable with ambiguity and strong communication skills to influence across product, risk, legal, and senior leadership without relying on large team size
- • Passion for artificial intelligence and its application to improve customer outcomes in collections
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to scale up one of the world’s most successful fintech companies as part of a winning team
- • Flexible working arrangements tailored to the role, including hybrid (3 days in-office weekly) or fully remote options with regular in-person connection opportunities
- • Comprehensive health coverage supporting physical and mental wellbeing, including private health cover
- • Retirement and savings plans for long-term financial wellbeing
- • Employee referral programme offering competitive bonuses for successful referrals
- • Office meals and snacks, including complimentary lunches prepared by in-house chefs on in-office days at select locations
- • Sustainable commuting support via cycle-to-work and electric vehicle salary sacrifice schemes in select locations
