- • Lead the creation and growth of Hawk-Eye’s new DemTech (Democratised Technology) business unit to bring elite sports technology to amateur, grassroots, and recreational sports markets.
- • Define and own the long-term strategic roadmap for DemTech, aligning it with Hawk-Eye and Sony Sports Technology’s broader objectives.
- • Identify high-potential amateur sports markets and segments for technology adoption through market research and competitive analysis.
- • Develop and manage business cases for new market entries and product expansions, ensuring alignment with commercial and technical feasibility.
- • Translate professional-grade Hawk-Eye technologies—originally used in Wimbledon, US Open, VAR, Goal-Line Technology, and Statcast—into accessible, scalable, and affordable solutions for non-professional users.
- • Lead end-to-end product development for DemTech products, from concept and prototyping through testing, launch, and iterative improvement.
- • Define product requirements, user stories, and success metrics in collaboration with engineering and design teams to ensure usability, performance, and reliability for consumer and semi-professional markets.
- • Own the commercial strategy for DemTech, including pricing models, go-to-market planning, revenue targets, and customer acquisition and retention strategies.
- • Identify, develop, and manage partnerships with sporting bodies, clubs, leagues, retail channels, and digital platforms in target markets globally.
- • Collaborate with marketing to create differentiated brand positioning and compelling campaigns tailored to amateur sports audiences.
- • Build, recruit, and lead a high-performing cross-functional team spanning product, engineering, commercial, and operations functions.
- • Establish operational frameworks for efficient product delivery, team collaboration, performance management, and accountability.
- • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver against strategic milestones and growth expectations.
- • Leverage existing Hawk-Eye technology, data infrastructure, and brand credibility to accelerate DemTech’s development and market entry.
- • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain Hawk-Eye’s leadership position in sports technology innovation.
- • Report on commercial and operational performance to senior leadership, providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
- • Manage third-party vendors, suppliers, and external partners required to scale the DemTech business unit.
- • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement within the DemTech team.
- • Travel as required to engage with sports organisations, partners, and markets across the UK and internationally.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven senior leadership experience building and scaling businesses or business units from early-stage to commercial scale.
- • Demonstrated track record in product development for consumer or B2B2C markets, with end-to-end ownership of the product lifecycle.
- • Strong commercial acumen with direct experience owning revenue targets, pricing strategies, and go-to-market planning.
- • Experience working in or alongside amateur, grassroots, or participatory sports markets is highly desirable.
- • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to influence across engineering, commercial, and executive levels.
- • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in ambiguity, high adaptability, and relentless focus on results.
