• • As the Head of Engineering at Bjak Sdn. • • Your primary responsibility will be to drive engineering execution, meticulously structuring engineering workstreams to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of our product roadmap. You will be the linchpin in translating high-level product and technical direction into tangible, consistent, and high-quality software releases. This involves a deep understanding of system architecture and the ability to guide the team through complex technical challenges.
• • A significant part of your role will involve providing robust technical guidance. You will actively contribute to critical architecture discussions, offering insightful perspectives and supporting engineers in making sound technical decisions. This includes evaluating system design choices, understanding implementation trade-offs, and ensuring that all systems are built with scalability, maintainability, and long-term viability in mind. Your technical acumen will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and robustness of our AI platform.
• • Team building and scaling are at the core of this position. You will be responsible for building and expanding a world-class engineering team across key global locations, including China, the US, and Europe. This involves not only recruiting top-tier engineering talent but also upholding a rigorous hiring bar to ensure the team's continued excellence. You will also play a key role in establishing and refining structured hiring processes and interview standards to attract and identify the best candidates.
• • Effective cross-team coordination will be essential for success. You will work in close collaboration with product managers, research scientists, and senior leadership to ensure seamless alignment across all engineering efforts and geographical locations. Your ability to identify and resolve technical and organizational bottlenecks will be critical in maintaining project momentum and fostering a collaborative environment.
• • In terms of engineering execution, you will be tasked with identifying potential risks early on, proactively unblocking engineers, and maintaining a consistent and healthy development velocity.
