📋 Description

• As Head of Engineering at Prezzee, you will lead the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable technology platforms across payments, e-commerce, and digital gifting, reporting directly to the CTO and playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s technological future.
• You will foster a culture of ownership, trust, learning, empowerment, collaboration, and accountability; define team structures and ways of working for distributed teams; reduce key-person dependencies through knowledge sharing; and drive AI transformation by embedding AI into SDLC practices, enabling business-wide adoption, establishing governance, and evaluating emerging technologies for real business impact.
• You will partner with Product, Operations, Customer, and other business functions as a trusted engineering partner, ensuring committed outcomes are delivered, risks and trade-offs are communicated clearly, and engineering quality, reliability, and delivery efficiency are advocated across the organisation.
• You will set the technical direction by defining modern engineering standards, shaping architecture aligned to global scale, balancing innovation with technical debt and platform reliability, and continuously improving DevOps, CI/CD, DevEx, and automation practices while owning the engineering roadmap and ensuring consistent delivery across onshore and offshore teams.
• You will uphold engineering standards and guardrails, lead post-incident reviews to improve observability and resilience, and ensure consistent delivery quality, performance, and security at scale — all while leading a large, talented team of onshore and offshore engineers in a culture that values openness, excellence, and impact.

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced in leading large, distributed engineering teams across onshore and offshore environments
• Strong technical background in AWS, microservices, cloud-native systems, CI/CD, DevOps, DevEx, observability, and secure coding practices
• Proven track record of delivering complex initiatives with high quality and predictable outcomes
• Skilled in shaping engineering operating models and enabling Engineering Managers and leaders
• Commercially minded, with the ability to influence stakeholders and make pragmatic trade-offs
• Proven experience in the application of AI within Engineering and Delivery practices to increase speed to market and scale teams without impacting quality or security
• Ability to translate emerging technology into tangible business outcomes while assessing potential risks and mitigants
