📋 Description

• As Head of Engineering at Bitstack Technologies SAS, you will serve as the critical bridge between the CTO and engineering teams, translating strategic vision into executable plans that drive the company’s mission to rebuild finance through an open, inclusive crypto-native banking platform serving 300K+ users across France and beyond.
• You will own the execution of engineering strategy by partnering with the CTO and cross-functional leaders to convert company priorities into clear, measurable delivery outcomes, ensuring alignment between technical execution and business goals in a fast-moving fintech environment.
• You will lead and support multiple engineering teams, providing hands-on leadership to ensure squads remain aligned, unblocked, and consistently delivering meaningful business impact through high-quality, scalable systems.
• You will build high-performing teams through strategic hiring, effective onboarding, and retention initiatives, while developing engineers and engineering managers via coaching, feedback, mentorship, and structured career development pathways.
• You will create clarity, structure, and accountability by helping teams navigate ambiguity, define success metrics, set achievable goals, and improve the predictability and reliability of delivery cycles.
• You will drive engineering excellence and pragmatic technical decision-making by guiding architectural trade-offs, supporting technical direction, and ensuring systems are built for scalability, maintainability, and long-term resilience.
• You will strengthen collaboration across Product, Design, and Data functions, fostering strong partnerships that enable shared ownership of outcomes and seamless execution of cross-functional initiatives.
• You will champion a healthy engineering culture by promoting psychological safety, continuous improvement, and an environment where engineers feel empowered to do their best work, take ownership, and grow professionally.
• You will have the opportunity to shape not only the technical trajectory of Bitstack but also its organizational culture and engineering practices during a pivotal phase of growth, backed by YC and top-tier VCs.
• You will learn and achieve mastery in scaling engineering organizations in high-ownership, fast-paced environments, gaining deep experience in fintech-specific challenges, regulatory considerations, and crypto-native product development while contributing to a mission-driven company building the future of finance.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head of Engineering in a FinTech environment
• Track record of managing multiple teams and scaling delivery in fast-paced organisations
• Strong people leadership skills: coaching, feedback, performance management, and talent development
• Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on execution levels
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience building teams, processes, and engineering culture during periods of growth (Series A/B experience is a plus)
• Comfort working in high-ownership environments with evolving priorities
• Fluency in English (French is a plus)
