Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the design team across product and brand, setting direction and creating conditions for senior, autonomous designers to excel while defining Poolside’s product vision in ambiguous, greenfield spaces.
- • Drive 0-to-1 product thinking by exploring research, experimentation, and proof-of-concepts for developer tools, shaping strategic product direction and partnering closely with leadership and engineering.
- • Shape Poolside’s external product presence, including website and developer first encounters, while building foundations for developer marketing, evangelism, and community engagement over time.
- • Scale the design team as the company grows by hiring thoughtfully, maintaining high standards, and fostering a low-ego, kind-hearted culture rooted in intellectual curiosity and obsession with AGI through intelligent software development systems.
- • Operate at multiple altitudes — from vision-level conversations with founders to detailed interaction flows — using AI regularly to prototype, build, and explore, with strong opinions on what constitutes good AI-assisted work.
- • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary, distributed team across Europe and North America, with monthly in-person collaboration in Paris and annual off-sites, united by a mission to reach AGI via intelligence systems for software development.
- • Bring a technical background combined with designer instincts, deep experience in developer tools, a habit of shipping side projects, and comfort writing code to bridge design and engineering with credibility on both sides.
- • Contribute to a company that believes accelerating software development through agentic systems and frontier models is the fastest path to AGI, attracting top talent to build powerful economic engines through user-obsessed innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Technical background (computer science or similar) combined with a designer’s identity and instincts
- • Deep experience designing specifically for developer tools, not general consumer or enterprise products
- • Experience leading senior, autonomous design teams with ability to set direction without micromanaging
- • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and comfort writing code to prototype and explore
- • Strong product intuition and active curiosity about AI and developer tooling markets
- • Track record of building and shipping side projects driven by intrinsic motivation
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote work with flexible hours
- • 37 days/year of vacation and holidays
- • Health insurance allowance for employee and dependents
- • 16 weeks of flexible, full-pay parental leave
- • Well-being, continuous learning, and home office allowances
- • Company-provided equipment
- • Frequent team get-togethers, including monthly in-person collaboration in Paris and annual off-sites
- • Diverse, inclusive, people-first culture
