📋 Description

• Serve as the first in-house finance leader responsible for building and scaling Loot Labs’ entire financial ecosystem from the ground up.
• Own end-to-end financial modeling, including growth forecasting, headcount planning, cash runway analysis, and complex "what-if" scenarios to guide strategic decisions.
• Lead annual budgeting, long-term planning, and financial forecasting processes aligned with company growth objectives and investor expectations.
• Maintain investor-grade financial materials including cap tables, financial statements, and reporting documents to ensure the company remains board- and diligence-ready at all times.
• Reconcile and validate inventory movements, cost of goods sold (COGS), and margin reporting across operations and accounting systems to ensure accuracy and transparency.
• Identify and resolve gaps, inconsistencies, and process risks in financial data flows before they impact business decisions or compliance.
• Establish and enforce financial controls and audit-ready processes to support scalability and regulatory compliance under GAAP standards.
• Manage the full month-end closing cycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
• Act as a strategic financial partner to department heads, translating financial data into actionable insights and helping teams understand budget performance and spend efficiency.
• Bring structure and accountability to financial decision-making without creating unnecessary bureaucracy or slowing down high-growth teams.
• Develop contingency financial frameworks (Plan B, Plan C) to ensure organizational resilience amid market volatility or operational shifts.
• Centralize all financial reporting into a single, professional, standardized system to become the definitive source of truth for company finances.
• Collaborate directly with the CEO and leadership team to challenge assumptions, name uncomfortable tradeoffs, and ground ambitious goals in financial reality.
• Balance precision with pragmatism—know when to prioritize accuracy and when "good enough" enables faster, smarter business outcomes.
• Build finance infrastructure tailored to a high-growth startup environment with inventory-heavy operations, physical goods, and digital collectibles.
• Translate complex financial insights into clear, compelling narratives for non-finance stakeholders across the organization.
• Drive process improvements that eliminate manual work, reduce errors, and increase visibility into unit economics and profitability.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or operational finance roles
• Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and modern ERP/Accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage)
• Proven track record of managing inventory-heavy financial cycles
• Strong accounting background – CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation
