- • Lead and build a high-talent-density team of Forward Deployed Engineers focused on embedding with enterprise customers to operationalize Replit’s AI-native software development platform.
- • Hire, develop, and set the hiring bar for Forward Deployed Engineers, establishing operating principles centered on speed, ownership, pragmatism, and customer impact.
- • Define execution standards and build scalable systems and tooling that enable the team to operate without becoming process-heavy.
- • Partner directly with engineering leaders, product teams, and executives at Replit’s largest enterprise customers to redesign workflows around AI-native development.
- • Lead complex technical engagements involving integrations, infrastructure, AI agents, automation, and internal developer platforms to unblock high-stakes deployments.
- • Build and ship production systems directly inside customer environments, participating in architecture reviews, debugging sessions, and live code implementations.
- • Drive rapid prototyping and iteration cycles with customers to accelerate time-to-value and transition them from experimentation to production adoption.
- • Identify repeatable customer implementation patterns and upstream them into reusable platform capabilities that improve enterprise adoption at scale.
- • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmap direction through direct feedback from customer deployments.
- • Contribute production-ready code, tooling, integrations, and reference architectures that enhance Replit’s platform for enterprise use cases.
- • Establish tight feedback loops between customer environments and Replit’s internal product development teams to ensure continuous platform improvement.
- • Partner with Sales, Field Engineering, and Product on strategic accounts to improve customer adoption, expansion, retention, and deployment velocity.
- • Serve as an executive escalation point for critical customer situations requiring technical leadership and rapid resolution.
- • Help define and scale Replit’s global enterprise adoption strategy by demonstrating how AI-native development transforms software creation in large organizations.
- • Ensure the Forward Deployed Engineering team is among the most advanced users of Replit and AI-native workflows within the company, aggressively leveraging AI agents and automation to increase leverage.
- • Operate with high velocity in ambiguous environments, balancing technical depth with customer judgment and product instincts to drive measurable business impact.
- • Cultivate a team culture that prioritizes autonomy, urgency, and direct customer impact over process and hierarchy.
- • Maintain deep technical credibility by staying hands-on in engineering tasks, including debugging, implementation strategy, and live system builds.
🎯 Requirements
- • 12+ years of experience in engineering, infrastructure, developer tools, applied AI, or customer engineering environments
- • Experience leading Forward Deployed Engineering, Applied AI, Solutions Architecture, or Strategic Engineering teams
- • Deep curiosity around AI-native software development and strong instincts for how AI changes engineering workflows
- • Experience leading high-performing technical organizations
- • Strong technical judgment and the ability to operate credibly with senior engineers and executives
- • Experience building and shipping production systems in fast-moving environments
