📋 Description

• Serve as the senior representative of Monad Foundation in Japan, owning end-to-end strategy for market entry, brand positioning, and institutional business development.
• Identify, negotiate, and close strategic institutional deals with Japan’s largest financial institutions including megabanks, trust banks, securities firms, payment companies, exchanges, and major enterprises.
• Drive commercial partnerships in Monad’s priority verticals: stablecoin issuance and payments, tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs), on-chain settlement, and institutional capital markets use cases.
• Build and nurture senior-level relationships with decision-makers across Japan’s financial ecosystem to convert conversations into concrete product launches with defined ownership, timelines, and usage paths.
• Establish regulated pathways for stablecoins on Monad, secure exchange relationships, and cultivate the local credibility required for institutional adoption.
• Own Monad’s brand presence in Japan, positioning it as credible, long-term financial infrastructure rather than just another blockchain platform.
• Represent Monad Foundation at the highest levels with regulators (FSA, JVCEA), industry bodies, media, ecosystem builders, and enterprise partners.
• Monitor and interpret Japan’s evolving digital asset regulatory landscape to identify high-impact opportunities and define realistic boundaries for market entry and expansion.
• Translate institutional needs into product-aligned commercial strategies that prioritize real usage, measurable activity, and sustainable adoption over vanity partnerships.
• Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy tailored to Japan’s unique financial culture, regulatory environment, and institutional decision-making processes.
• Act as the primary liaison between Monad’s global team and Japanese stakeholders, ensuring alignment between product capabilities and local market demands.
• Build and lead local partnerships with ecosystem enablers including legal firms, compliance consultants, and technology providers to accelerate institutional onboarding.
• Maintain deep awareness of Japanese financial and tech media landscapes to amplify Monad’s visibility and thought leadership among key audiences.
• Drive commercial discipline across all deals: ensure clear milestones, measurable outcomes, and post-launch usage metrics are defined and tracked.
• Serve as the trusted face of Monad Foundation in Japan, embodying the organization’s values of collaboration, low ego, and high-quality execution.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in Japanese corporate and regulatory attitudes toward digital assets to position Monad as a proactive, forward-looking infrastructure provider.
• Collaborate with global product, legal, and compliance teams to adapt Monad’s offerings to meet Japan-specific institutional requirements.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of business development experience, including 4+ years in blockchain, digital assets, or Web3 with a track record of closing large, complex institutional deals
• Deep understanding of the Japanese market and extensive experience engaging and selling to Japan’s largest financial institutions and enterprises
• A robust, senior network across Japanese banks, trust banks, securities firms, payment companies, enterprises, and Web3 players with the ability to open doors at decision-maker level
• Native-level fluency in Japanese and professional fluency in English (written and verbal)
• Strong command of how Web3 maps to institutional strategy — including stablecoin issuance, asset tokenization, and on-chain settlement
• Sharp read on where major Japanese corporates and regulators are heading on digital assets, with foresight to position Monad early
