📋 Description
- • As the Global Head of Marketing – Retail (Shopping) at Deliveroo, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of marketing initiatives for the Shopping vertical, directly contributing to the company’s mission of transforming how people shop and eat by connecting consumers with local retailers through a seamless, technology-driven platform. This role is pivotal in scaling Deliveroo’s Shopping business globally, ensuring marketing efforts are aligned with ambitious growth targets while maintaining brand integrity and commercial rigor.
- • You will define and own the global marketing strategy for Retail (Shopping), managing substantial budgets with a relentless focus on ROI, developing data-driven annual and quarterly campaign roadmaps that capitalize on seasonal moments and key trading events, and establishing clear KPIs and measurement frameworks to drive post-campaign insights and continuous optimization across markets.
- • You will develop a distinctive, data-led category strategy for Deliveroo’s Shopping business by identifying priority verticals, defining compelling positioning and value propositions, translating customer insights and market trends into scalable growth plans, and ensuring global strategic clarity while enabling agile local execution.
- • You will partner with Commercial teams to onboard and accelerate growth of priority retail partners, building scalable go-to-market frameworks and partner launch playbooks, leading joint marketing initiatives, executing co-funded media strategies, and creating integrated campaigns that unlock incremental growth and deepen partner relationships.
- • You will act as the global centre of excellence for Retail marketing by collaborating closely with local markets (including UAE and France) to embed best-in-class practices, building structured knowledge-sharing frameworks to scale winning campaigns and playbooks, identifying repeatable growth levers, and ensuring consistent measurement standards across all markets.
- • You will manage and develop a high-impact marketer on your team, setting ambitious objectives, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and executional excellence, while encouraging bold, creative campaign activation balanced with operational rigour and accountability.
- • You will operate at the strategic intersection of Commercial, Growth, Product, Operations, and local markets, ensuring marketing frameworks are scalable, best-in-class, and directly tied to measurable commercial impact in acquisition, retention, and frequency growth.
- • You will balance brand-building and performance marketing to drive sustainable customer acquisition, retention, and frequency growth, leveraging test-and-learn methodologies to continuously refine tactics and maximize long-term brand equity and commercial returns.
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant senior marketing leadership experience (10+ years), ideally within retail, grocery, marketplace, eCommerce, or technology sectors.
- • Proven experience managing substantial marketing budgets and delivering measurable commercial impact through data-driven decision-making.
- • Strong expertise in building and executing multi-channel marketing strategies across acquisition, retention, and brand-building initiatives.
- • Demonstrated success in partner stakeholder management and joint business planning with retail and commercial partners.
- • Experience launching and scaling new propositions, categories, or physical locations (e.g., stores, dark stores) in fast-moving consumer environments.
- • Outstanding organisational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- • Analytical and performance-driven mindset with a strong test-and-learn approach to optimise marketing performance.
- • Comfort operating autonomously in fast-paced, high-growth environments while maintaining strategic focus and execution discipline.
- • Creative thinker with proven ability to brief and develop global creative platforms and campaigns that resonate across diverse markets.
- • Prior experience at a high-performing retail, eCommerce, or technology company is preferred.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Access to comprehensive healthcare, well-being, and parental leave benefits, with country-specific offerings designed to support employee welfare and work-life balance.
- • Generous annual leave allowances, including dedicated time off to support a charitable cause of your choice, reflecting Deliveroo’s commitment to social impact and personal fulfillment.
- • Pension contributions and financial wellness support to help employees plan for long-term security and stability.
- • A culture deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, where all identities are respected and valued, and adjustments are made to ensure equitable access throughout the hiring and employment process.
- • Opportunity to work at a fast-moving, technology-driven company at the forefront of the rapidly expanding on-demand delivery industry, with autonomy, ownership, and encouragement to bring new ideas to life.
