- • As the Head of Research at Abundant Robotics Inc., you will serve as the 'PM of the model,' architecting the next generation of model reasoning and intelligence at the frontier of AI research and execution. This role is critical to advancing the company’s mission of becoming the NVIDIA of training data by enabling breakthroughs in AGI, ASI, and physical intelligence through scalable data solutions.
- • You will drive foundational research and execution by owning the full research-to-production lifecycle, designing and executing a core research agenda to discover generalizable ideas that advance model reasoning at scale, and ensuring rapid deployment of innovations into live systems.
- • You will partner with top-tier AI research teams to design, engineer, and iterate on high-impact datasets and large-scale benchmarking efforts focused on model alignment, safety, and optimal reward signals, shaping how frontier models behave in real-world applications.
- • You will autonomously identify, scope, and manage long-term research projects, selecting high-impact problems critical to scaling data for AGI/ASI, and collaborate with engineering teams on data pipelines, internal tooling, and high-performance deep learning algorithm implementations.
- • You will join a founding team of former leaders from Waymo, Google, Mercor, and AWS, with experience deploying deep learning models at 1B-user scale, training SOTA models for self-driving, and scaling data pipelines with tens of thousands of human annotators at YouTube, working at the cutting edge of synthetic data, simulation, and reinforcement learning.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in advanced post-training techniques, distillation, large-scale agent systems, and AI safety governance, while shaping the future of model intelligence through hands-on research with real-world impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • PhD in a related field such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, or NLP with a world-class publication record at top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR)
- • Proven experience shipping research directly to production and live systems, with expertise in advanced post-training, distillation, and high-stakes evaluation methodologies
- • Experience with large-scale agent systems, including orchestration frameworks, tool APIs, distributed execution, observability, and logging infrastructure
- • Demonstrated strategic and ethical leadership, including experience advising on or shaping governmental policy related to AI safety and governance (e.g., House of Lords or Online Safety Bill initiatives)
