📋 Description

• As Head of Risk & Fraud at Taekus Inc, you will design and scale the enterprise risk architecture that safeguards a high-growth fintech platform processing over $3B in annual transaction volume, ensuring secure expansion of premium banking and rewards products for affluent customers.
• You will own and evolve Taekus’s enterprise risk management framework across all products and operations, partnering with founders and cross-functional teams in product, engineering, credit, operations, and compliance to build a modern, scalable risk organization aligned with regulatory expectations and strategic growth goals.
• Day to day, you will design and scale risk infrastructure across fraud, payments, operations, and financial products, developing automated monitoring and controls in close collaboration with engineering and product teams to enable safe, real-time transaction processing.
• You will develop and maintain risk policies, governance structures, and control frameworks that support innovation while meeting compliance requirements, including ongoing coordination with sponsor banks and regulatory partners to ensure alignment with evolving financial regulations.
• You will monitor and manage key risk metrics across the platform, using data-driven insights to detect emerging threats, optimize fraud detection systems, and report risk posture to leadership and stakeholders.
• You will build and lead the risk and fraud organization from the ground up, recruiting, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing team as Taekus expands into new markets and product lines.
• You will partner closely with product and engineering to embed risk controls into the core banking infrastructure, ensuring that new features and integrations are launched with appropriate safeguards from inception.
• You will drive continuous improvement in risk operations by leveraging automation, machine learning readiness, and scalable architectures to keep pace with transaction growth and evolving fraud tactics.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in risk management, fintech operations, fraud prevention, or enterprise risk, preferably within a payments, banking, or high-growth financial technology environment.
• Proven experience leading risk programs at a fintech, payments company, or modern bank, including building scalable risk frameworks that support rapid product and geographic expansion.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, fraud detection methodologies, payment system vulnerabilities, and fintech-specific risk infrastructure, with hands-on experience designing controls for digital financial products.
• Builder mindset with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and drive initiatives from concept to scale without relying on legacy processes.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of partnering effectively with product, engineering, compliance, and credit teams to align risk controls with business objectives.
• Experience working with sponsor banks, regulatory bodies, or compliance partners to maintain adherence to financial regulations such as BSA/AML, KYC, and payment network rules.
