📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end non-customer-facing risk operations at Tilt, overseeing fraud prevention, dispute resolution, mail and refund processing, and other back-office workloads to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
• Own the people, workflows, vendor stack, and automation strategy to scale efficiency without proportional headcount growth, while maintaining high accuracy and quality in high-volume, regulated work.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into operational practice and defend the control environment during audits and exams.
• Develop team leads and analysts, establish performance metrics and SLAs, and drive automation and AI-enabled tooling to reduce manual review and improve dispute win rates and cycle times.
• Serve as the executive-facing voice of Risk Operations, translating operational insights into strategic tradeoffs for leadership and ensuring the function remains exam-ready and defensible.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in fraud, disputes, and overall risk operations, including 3+ years leading teams — ideally including managing managers.
• Deep, practical knowledge of consumer protection regulation as it applies to operations: FCRA credit disputes, Reg Z and Reg E transaction disputes, and back-office obligations (SCRA, bankruptcy, deceased handling, proof of authorization).
• A track record of building and scaling operations through process and automation, not just headcount.
• Strong command of fraud typologies across card, ACH, and P2P — ATO, identity fraud, payments fraud, abuse, social engineering.
• Comfort operating on data: able to set and interpret operational metrics, work with SQL/BI outputs, and hold the team to a single source of truth.
• Proven success partnering with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering, and communicating risk and tradeoffs to executives.
