- • Lead and grow a team of security and software engineers responsible for Harvey’s security engineering capabilities, including identity, access management, and security tooling.
- • Own Harvey’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy across workforce, infrastructure, and production environments, ensuring secure and scalable access controls.
- • Build and operate scalable authorization, authentication, access governance, secrets management, and privileged access systems that support enterprise-grade security requirements.
- • Develop a security tooling ecosystem that empowers engineering teams to autonomously identify, remediate, and prevent security issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
- • Partner with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Product Security, and Compliance teams to embed security controls into engineering workflows and product design.
- • Drive automation-first approaches to security controls to reduce operational burden while increasing coverage, consistency, and effectiveness across all systems.
- • Define and execute the long-term technical architecture and roadmap for foundational security services that enable rapid company growth and regulatory compliance.
- • Establish security capabilities aligned with enterprise customer demands and evolving global regulatory landscapes, including data privacy and industry-specific standards.
- • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering managers and senior individual contributors to scale the security engineering organization.
- • Translate complex security requirements into pragmatic, business-aligned engineering solutions that balance risk mitigation with product velocity.
- • Influence company-wide technical strategy by collaborating with executive leadership to prioritize security initiatives that support Harvey’s mission and growth trajectory.
- • Ensure security is treated as an engineering discipline that enables speed and trust, not as a gatekeeping function.
- • Build and maintain production-grade platforms and developer-facing infrastructure that are used broadly by engineering teams across the organization.
- • Support Harvey’s rapid scaling across 60+ countries by designing security systems that are resilient, auditable, and adaptable to diverse regulatory environments.
- • Promote a culture of decisiveness, simplicity, and relentless ownership aligned with Harvey’s core values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job’s Not Finished.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of software engineering, infrastructure, or security engineering experience with significant leadership experience managing managers and senior engineers.
- • Experience building and operating large-scale identity, authentication, authorization, or access management systems in production environments.
- • Strong software engineering background with a proven track record of building production-grade platforms and developer-facing infrastructure.
- • Experience leading security engineering organizations in high-growth technology companies.
- • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.
- • Demonstrated ability to translate security requirements into scalable engineering solutions and influence executive-level technical strategy.
