- • Lead and grow a team of security and software engineers responsible for Harvey’s security engineering capabilities, including identity, access management, and security tooling.
- • Own Harvey’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy across workforce, infrastructure, and production environments, ensuring secure and scalable access controls.
- • Build and operate scalable authorization, authentication, access governance, secrets management, and privileged access systems that serve all engineering teams and products.
- • Develop a security tooling ecosystem that empowers engineers to autonomously identify, remediate, and prevent security issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
- • Partner with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Product Security, and Compliance teams to embed security as an engineering discipline, not a gatekeeping function.
- • Drive automation-first approaches to security controls to reduce operational burden while increasing coverage, consistency, and effectiveness across global systems.
- • Define long-term technical architecture and roadmaps for foundational security services that support Harvey’s rapid growth and enterprise customer requirements.
- • Establish security capabilities aligned with evolving regulatory landscapes and enterprise-grade compliance demands from customers in 60+ countries.
- • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering managers and senior individual contributors to scale the security engineering organization.
- • Translate complex security requirements into pragmatic, business-aligned engineering solutions that enable speed without compromising trust.
- • Influence company-wide technical strategy by collaborating directly with executive leadership to prioritize security investments that align with product and business goals.
- • Ensure security systems are designed as developer-friendly platforms that promote secure-by-default practices across all engineering workflows.
- • Maintain and evolve security infrastructure in cloud-native, distributed, and highly scalable environments supporting 1500+ customers globally.
- • Champion simplicity and decisiveness in security design, adhering to Harvey’s core values of Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job’s Not Finished.
- • Build and scale security platforms that are used broadly by engineering teams, enabling them to ship securely without friction or delays.
- • Operate in a high-growth technology environment where security must evolve in lockstep with product innovation and customer scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of software engineering, infrastructure, or security engineering experience with significant leadership experience managing managers and senior engineers.
- • Proven experience building and operating large-scale identity, authentication, authorization, or access management systems in production.
- • Strong software engineering background with a track record of developing production-grade platforms and developer-facing infrastructure.
- • Experience leading security engineering organizations in high-growth technology companies.
- • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.
- • Demonstrated ability to translate security requirements into scalable engineering solutions and influence executive-level technical strategy.
