📋 Description

• HR Operations Specialist (Contract) role focused on maintaining smooth HR operations during a period of significant change, supporting employee lifecycle activities, data accuracy, and cross-functional coordination for a global team.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include executing onboarding and offboarding in Workday for US and UK employees, processing employment changes, preparing documentation, ensuring data integrity, supporting compliance (I-9, right to work), tracking tasks across systems, and serving as a responsive point of contact for HR and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Acorns is a remote-first financial wellness company with optional office access in Irvine, CA, driven by a mission to democratize wealth-building through micro-investing and guided by values like leading with heart, making bold decisions, and never stopping growth.
• In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with global HR operations in Workday, strengthen your ability to manage competing priorities with precision, deepen your understanding of compliance processes, and contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization impacting over 14 million users.

🎯 Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in HR operations, people operations, HR coordination, or a similar fast-paced operational role
• Workday experience preferred—familiarity with employee lifecycle transactions, data entry, and basic reporting within an HRIS
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent track record of accurate, timely work in a fast-moving environment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels and stakeholder groups
• Comfortable managing competing priorities under time pressure without sacrificing accuracy
• Experience with Google Workspace, Asana, and Slack
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion
