- • Serve as a technical lead for the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Workday Benefits and related HR technologies at Carnegie Mellon University.
- • Support the planning, configuration, testing, and execution of the university’s annual Open Enrollment process to ensure seamless employee experience and accurate downstream integrations.
- • Design and implement HR technology solutions based on requirements gathered from HR Business Analysts, Benefits staff, and other stakeholders to enhance benefits administration and employee self-service functionality.
- • Configure and maintain benefit plans, eligibility rules, enrollment events, life events, benefit reporting, notifications, and integrations within Workday HCM.
- • Review and recommend solution options that maximize Workday’s native functionality while aligning with university policies, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- • Document detailed solution designs including configuration requirements, reporting specifications, security protocols, testing plans, and deployment procedures.
- • Partner with functional teams and HR Business Analysts to develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios for HR technology enhancements.
- • Support migration of solutions from test to production environments following established change management and governance procedures.
- • Monitor Workday product releases and new functionality related to Benefits, Open Enrollment, and employee self-service; evaluate, test, and implement approved enhancements.
- • Ensure compliance with university data privacy, security, and governance standards across all HR technology systems and processes.
- • Provide critical support during high-volume periods including Open Enrollment and major benefits-related initiatives.
- • Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, Information Systems, and campus stakeholders to align technology solutions with operational needs.
- • Maintain a strong focus on improving the employee experience through technology-driven improvements in benefits administration.
- • Demonstrate commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions and project implementations.
- • Perform other duties as assigned to support the strategic goals of the HR Technology team and the university’s mission.
