- • As a Human Resources Manager at Myworkdaycenter, you will be a pivotal strategic partner, collaborating closely with management and senior leadership to ensure that HR practices are seamlessly integrated with and actively support the business operations of your assigned business unit(s) within a specific geographic region.

You will be expected to grasp the financial standing of your business unit, understand its mid-range strategic plans, immerse yourself in its unique culture, and stay abreast of its competitive environment.
- • A core responsibility will be the proactive management of employee and labor relations. This includes fostering positive working relationships, addressing concerns effectively, and navigating the complexities of union environments.
- • You will serve as a trusted advisor to managers and supervisors, providing expert feedback and counsel on a wide range of employee-related matters. This includes guiding them through performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and general employee concerns, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- • Conducting thorough and impartial internal investigations is a critical aspect of this position. You will be responsible for gathering facts, preparing comprehensive summation reports of your findings, and making well-reasoned recommendations for outcomes, always maintaining objectivity and confidentiality.
- • You will work collaboratively with various internal HR functions, including Benefits, Payroll, and HRIS, to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of HR services and to support broader HR initiatives.
- • This role involves actively supporting and developing diverse HR initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR programs and policies across the organization.
- • A significant part of your contribution will be advising and training managers and supervisors on best practices for supporting and managing their teams. This includes equipping them with the skills and knowledge to foster a productive and engaged workforce.
- • You will partner with leadership on matters of policy and practice, ensuring that HR policies are aligned with business objectives and legal requirements. This may involve contributing to the development or refinement of policies.
- • Collaboration with legal counsel will be necessary on occasion, particularly for complex employee relations issues or to ensure compliance with evolving legal landscapes.
- • You will engage directly with employees at all levels of the organization, serving as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries and support, always operating with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
- • This position requires you to work closely with multiple work groups, spanning diverse areas such as media, sales, production, and circulation, understanding the unique HR needs of each.
- • A key challenge and opportunity in this role is working with multiple Unions and different business agents, requiring adept navigation of collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, and labor relations strategies.
- • You will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations within your assigned market(s), acting as a guardian of legal and ethical HR practices.
- • While primarily a remote position, this role requires a commitment of one day per week in the office, fostering in-person collaboration and engagement.
- • Candidates must reside within the 10-county Denver-Aurora-Centennial MSA or Douglas, Broomfield, or Boulder County to facilitate the required in-office presence and local market understanding.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in union environments, including managing comprehensive personnel functions, navigating collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), grievance procedures, and labor relations.
- • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and concerns simultaneously.
- • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
- • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution techniques and the ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial or confrontational situations.
- • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- • 3-5 years of progressive HR Manager experience, preferably within the publication or media industry.
