📋 Description

• Build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant ELT pipelines for new client onboarding using Python, ensuring seamless data ingestion from diverse sources into cloud data warehouses.
• Develop, test, and document dbt models (Core or Cloud) to transform raw client data into clean, analytics-ready datasets for BI, forecasting, and machine learning consumption.
• Orchestrate and monitor client onboarding workflows using Dagster, ensuring automated, reliable execution of data pipelines with proper error handling and retry logic.
• Implement comprehensive data quality checks and testing strategies throughout the onboarding lifecycle to detect and resolve inconsistencies, missing data, or schema drift.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and data anomalies during client onboarding, diagnosing root causes and implementing fixes with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with Implementation Project Managers to provide accurate engineering ETAs, surface blockers early, and maintain transparent visibility of progress via Jira.
• Partner with Data Science teams to ensure forecasting models and AI feature datasets are accurately ingested, transformed, and delivered on schedule.
• Deliver completed client onboards to the core Data Engineering team with full documentation, runbooks, monitoring configurations, and SLA-aligned handoff criteria.
• Support ongoing maintenance of live client accounts, including data source re-authentications, API migrations, and integration of new data sources post-onboarding.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding pipeline templates, standardizing patterns, reducing redundancy, and enhancing scalability across clients.
• Write clear, concise, and actionable status updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making without requiring interpretation or rewriting.
• Adhere to team standards for code quality, deployment practices, and documentation rigor, ensuring maintainability and auditability of all implemented pipelines.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and streamline documentation processes.
• Work independently in a fully remote, async-friendly environment with strong ownership over end-to-end project delivery from initial setup to final handoff.
• Maintain availability during U.S. business hours (9AM - 5PM EST) to align with client time zones and support real-time collaboration with U.S.-based teams.
• Follow established SLAs for onboarding timelines and ensure all deliverables meet quality benchmarks before handoff to production teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, SQLAlchemy, psycopg2)
• Hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud)
• Hands-on experience with Dagster or similar orchestration tools
• Advanced SQL skills including CTEs, window functions, and query optimization
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
