Industrial Automation Architect (Octoplant)

📋 Description

• • As an Industrial Automation Architect at Plain Concepts, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing cutting-edge Octoplant (AUVESY-MDT) solutions within complex industrial and manufacturing environments. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and a proven track record in architecting, deploying, and managing large-scale automation platforms.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to define the overarching Octoplant architecture, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with existing OT systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and robotics.
• • You will lead the technical vision and execution across the entire project lifecycle, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through to final implementation, go-live, and ongoing support.
• • A key aspect of this role involves designing secure and robust OT network topologies, adhering to industry standards such as ISA/IEC 62443, to ensure the integrity and safety of industrial control systems.
• • You will be instrumental in configuring Octoplant agents and connectors, establishing automated backup routines, and developing sophisticated change-detection workflows to maintain system stability and compliance.
• • Developing integrations using critical industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) will be essential to connect diverse automation components and ensure data flow.
• • You will architect and implement comprehensive Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures, guaranteeing business continuity in the face of unforeseen events.
• • Acting as a primary technical reference point for all stakeholders, you will translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• • Collaboration is key; you will coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to ensure successful project outcomes.
• • A significant part of your role will involve mentoring junior engineers, providing knowledge transfer, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
